active cooling on recievers?? (1 Viewer)

i noticed the few recievers i have messed with get HOT. by simply putting a decent silent fan on top of them seems to help alot.

i imagine other than keeping the temps of the reciever and surrounding equipment at bay i would be extending the component life some.


does this have merit? what do you guys think?

Hell Yeah. Keeping gear "COOL" is a good Idea. If an amp is hot all the time the solder points can start to go causing some nasty things to happen and thermal break down.
