Hi, I've been doing a lot of searching and found a similar thread here so I registered to ask the question.
I'm upgrading my laptop from 32bit windows vista to 64bit windows 7 and have been trying to find what my new RAM cap will be based on the motherboards cap. Everything I'm finding is listing the restriction at 4G but those points are also referencing the 4G cap of the 32 bit system. Everywhere I look at for the 64 bit systems says at least 8 but I'm sure that there's a hardware requirement for being able to go that high.
My mother board is a Dell Inc 0UW306 and it takes DDR2 PC2-5300 or DDR2 PC2-6400
Thanks,
Chris
