Hi Gang Happy New Year!!!!!!

Buddy of mine is looking for a surround speaker combo.

His budget is 1K. He's leaning towards a PSB set,

Any other decent combo's in this price range?

Paradigm?

JBL?

Boston Acoustics?

Polk?

Energy?

Price has to Include the sub.

Any recommendations appreciated

Thanks

Hey Chris,

The Acoustic Research HC6 sat/sub system just got a great reveiw from The Perfect Vision. The set can be had for about $700.00. Check it out.

It depends on what you want. Infinity has a decent set for $749. Polk has a set that is around $1000 that is not bad. I really think the polk rt25i speakers sound great for the $99 curcuit city has then on sale for. Then you could get the center channel cd 245 for $199. That leaves you with $400 for a sub. You could get a dharman for $450. That is $1050 for your total. If you have an old amp get a SVS 20-39 for $455. I took back my velodyne and got the SVS. The difference is night and day. Granted there are a lot better speakers out there but you would be suprised at how the polk rt-25i speakers sound. One last route would be a DIY one. Buy the kits for the speakers and put them together. This is a lot more work but you would get a lot for you money and keep it well under $1000.

You owe it to yourself to listen to the Paradigm Cinema Series, together with a PDR-8 or PDR-10 sub.

I just did an installation for my sis with this package, sounded pretty darn good for about a grand!!
