    Thanks, David, that is exactly my confusion. PA manual says to hook up the mains to the avr and then on to the sub for better bass management and because the 6880 crossover is not adjustable (can that be true?). There's just so much info out there it's confusing. Shouild the bus be set to Off...

    I have an HK254 and PA Rm6880, 5.1 speakers. I have the sub wired to the fronts and set at Large, the center and rears set to 120Hz, the sub setting at "present", and the sub mode set to Off.     For various rasons, I've had to hook up my Comcast HD box directly to the Samsung 550 via HDMI and then the cable box to the HK avr via optical cable.
