I have been using my Bluray DVD player, for listening to audio CD's. Without spending a fortune, will I get better performance from a new separate CD player ?
Any name brand recommendations are welcomed.
Thanks
I have had my Onkyo TX-SR700 for nearly 15 years or more and have been more than pleased with it's longevity and performance for all these years.
Searching for new Onkyo receivers, 100-140+ watts per channel, 7-1 or 7-2 has left me a bit worried on their quality. The reviews have been less than...
I have an older model Onkyo 5:1 receiver. It does not have HDMI inputs. It does have audio Optical inputs
My older Roku player had an Optical output, so I was able to use the Onkyo receiver for Netflix movies.
I ordered a new Roku 3, because it has the ability to show youtube videos. My...
There is a connection for a rear center channel on my 5/1 Onkyo TXSR-700 receiver.
Since it is labled as a 5/1 receiver, how does this location apply ?
Has anyone connected and used this speaker location ?
Is it worth the extra cost for what I will gain from it ?
About every diagram for setting up speakers for a 5/1 system show the rear speakers in back of a couch or seating area.
Let's face it, none of the homes I see, including mine, have room enough to move a couch that much away from the back wall.
Where would be the best placement of rear/rear...
I know this question has been asked many times. Not only here but on several discussion groups. Could it be, that the movie soundtracks meant for theaters, are not compatible with "Home Theater" set ups ? Extremly low dialog and thunderous special effects are ruining my experience. My remote...
It takes forever to use the letter/number pad to search within YouTube and other sites with my new Panasonic Bluray.
Are there any plans to include a keyboard input for TV's or Blurays that are NET capable ?
Could there be an application in the future to use a keyboard on equipment...
I am looking for the hard to find "Our Gang" videos on DVD.
Our Gang, not to be confused with The Little Rascals, were made at the Hal Roach studio from the 20's to 30's.
Many of the offerings on the web or at stores, have both titles mixed, and never just the complete Hal Roach "Our...
I have a Panasonic plasma 50" that is 1080p certified.
My Older Onkyo TXSR 700 does not have HDMI inputs. I am using the optical out for audio.
Will using a bluray player with component cable cause any great loss of picture quality over HDMI ?
Anyone know where I can get the trouble code list for Panasonic Plasma TV's ?
The "power on" LED will blink the codes up to 40 blinks. The codes will enable troubleshooting.
I had mine blink 10 times and Panasonic tech advised a few causes/ solutions. One of which was to have the TV on its own...
I ran accross the new Netgear EVA 2000 reviews and this looks like something I have been waiting for. I didn't know these were available yet and they seem like the next big step in unplugging cable and satellite.
The support of high resolution during playback was in question in a review of the...
I just went to see Avatar. Excuse my elderly knowledge but the glasses were different.
Is this a new format or will the DVD release have the old cardboard blue and red glasses ?
Whats the difference ? I find that some older 3D movies are not worth the effort and only cause headaches
There...
I've had it with my Direct TV programming. 150 channels and I watch 3. Is there any way to stream the free Internet programming for PC'S to my main Plasma TV ? I have seen many new sites pop up such as Hulu, that offer an alternative. I do have a Dlink Media center DSM320, but can this...
I have always had a lower volume on my center channel. It causes me to raise the volume to hear the voice track and then lower the volume when the thunder begins I would like to have someone with this receiver post their speaker (Set-Up) numbers . I have already entered in the menu as to size...
I have several DVD players that I would like to switch between. I found a component video cable switch but now I need to also switch the fiber audio cable source. I cannot locate a fiber switch for this application. Will I have to sacrifice the fiber for conventional audio cables ?
Hope someone else is as fed up with loud, blaring, annoying commercials as I am. I'm a Direct TV subsciber. Are there any new gadgets out there that will either keep a constant volume, or mute automatically ? I am so sick of constantly having the remote in my hand to combat this. I...
I believe that all speaker companies should have a cut-away sample on display at the dealership so that the end user can actually see whats in the box. You wouldn't believe the garbage drivers and cheap crossovers that are included with some systems. When was the last time someone showed you the...
I notice that while listening to my newly installed Home Theater system that while playing just about any DVD movie, the actors voice mono log [adjusted to normal volume levels] is so over whelmed by the other special effects on the movie. I have to constantly turn down the volume during those...
The Direct TV instructions for hooking up the Sat receiver shows the audio L/R going from the receiver to the TV, and the HT receiver audio L/R connecting to the audio outputs on the TV. Is this correct ? I might want to use a digital coax audio cable from the Sat receiver to the HT receiver...
Audio outputs on my Satellite receiver,DVD Player, etc have left-right RCA jacks to connect to my Onkyo SRTX700 HTR. Will the receiver interpret and distribute those signals to all channels [front, center, rear] ? Or should I use the Digital coax output and cable ? I would also like to operate...
