Might as well. It's a better connection, it's a single cable, and if you can't tell the video difference, it will at least improve the audio. Monoprice/bluejeanscables/riteav for cable needs
Is there an attic above you? Is there a basement below? Do you have carpeting? A big rug? Baseboards? Is the answer is no to all of those, then you can get a cable track system, it runs along your wall and holds the wires. It can look pretty nice sometimes, and often times people...
As long as it's not encased and completely covered, you should be fine. My Onkyo receiver has about 4 inches of space above it. If the TV is on, so is the receiver. Hell, My center channel speaker is on mine right now with some quarters used as spacers. I know it's not the best situation, but...
I'll be honest, I still don't understand the desire to NOT use the receiver. If it gets too hot when on, maybe it's not in an area with enough ventilation. As for being complicated... it's just the volume someone has to control. I would think that worrying about making sure the receiver is off...
An HD ready TV still needs an HD-tuner to get HD channels. Also, 1080i is damn near impossible to see the difference of on such a small set when compared to a 720p.
Wireless speakers won't be giving you the greatest quality. If you've got rugs, maybe run the wires beneath it? Attic above you, go crawling? Basement below you, drill a hole?
Maybe not, my surrounds are wired through my ceiling. Took a bit of work and alot of sweat (FL in the summertime), but it's nice. If you have a basement below you, consider running the wires in the downward direction.
DLP is better for gaming from what I know, but a good LCD should be just fine, and it has the advantahe of the size. Why wouldn't you go 7.1? Do everything with the highest level of cable you can, meaning component, optical, VGA, HDMI, what have you. While some people disagree, the price of...
I'm looking to hang two patio speakers under my awning on my porch. I'm going to connect these to my recievers Zone 2 input. I live in FL, and am clearly succeptable to some nasty weather, so clearly they will come inside during these terrible times. Regardles, I need me some outdoor speakers...
In order to do that I would have to move the keyhole plate on my speaker do that the ceiling mounts work. I'm kinda nervous about drilling holes into a speaker. Maybe that's just me, but... yea. Kinda worried there.
Inverted? Meaning, the grill faces the ceiling? That the top of the speaker is facing downward? I was originally going to have the speakers aiming down a bit towards the sweet spot, so inverting it to me can mean a handful of things.
