Couple more follow up questions:
What camera do you shoot with for your interviews and b-roll and do you just record sound directly to camera with a mounted mic?
Thanks a lot!
This is really annoying I wish Paramount would release some titles. They brought out three of the Friday the 13th movies and then stopped and just re-issued them on DVD, I'd really like to get the rest of them but I'm not buying them again on DVD
I've had a Toshiba 56' 1080i DLP for about 5 years now and a 37' Sharp 1080p LCD for 3 years. I've always found that the DLP gives the "truest" image and reflects exactly what I'd want from a blu-ray, that being a very film-like image that's faithful to the movie. With my LCD I've always found...
Van,
I can't wait for this disc and the thought of a new Terminator BD with a Lowry restoration is getting me very excited. I can't wait to see what you've got in store for that film.
I find a lot of people don't give enough credit to fact tracks, one of the coolest things I ever experienced...
I can confirm LALD has been corrected and looks fantastic. The over-blown title sequence has been restored to the correct look and the overall contrast boosting the 2006 transfer had has been toned down to a more appropriate level.
What exactly would you do differently Charlie? I of course have no idea of all the material you had so I could never guess but to me it's perfect. I've always wondered how you shape hundreds of hours of interviews into a coherent story? Where the hell do you begin?
Every time I watch Dangerous Days and come to the iconic end shot with Deckard on his balcony with that beautiful Vangelis score I always get so emotional and a smile crosses my face. Finally Blade Runner received exceptional treatment on Home Video and it's finally got the recognition it truly...
The extras were produced by David Prior and I remember another feature of his, possible the making of The Fly, using a similar technique. It definately is an editing choice he uses often.
That's what i first thought until I watched it myself. It is quite clear that this isn't due to the new 5.1 track, the different music and "Kowalski" line are no where to be heard on the 2.0 track.
I just checked out my HD-DVD of those scenes in the Director's Cut including the violin strings at the end and can confirm these are authoring errors as the 2.0 Track on the same disc doesn't have this. So it seems only the 5.1 Dolby digital track is affected. This is an odd error....
I have the disc and on my 56" calibrated DLP the edge enhancement was noticeable but not during every scene. The screen captures do tend to exaggerate it. Also, the DNR was not nearly as bad as it looks on the comparison shots seen around the net, but it is for sure still there.
Rush Hour is remastered and looks a little better but Rush Hour 2 is the same except for a few minute tone changes and interlacing fixes. http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/foru...pic.php?t=3831 http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/foru...pic.php?t=3841
I agree 100%. This is a major problem that studios need to quit doing. The Last Starfighter is absolutely terrible with DNR. I hope this doesn't become worse with every title utilizing this. There is only one studio that is consistent with not using EE or DNR on new titles and that is Warner...
Here are some comparison shots. Die Hard: http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/foru...pic.php?t=4078 Die Hard 3: http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/foru...pic.php?t=4077
I've seen that Universal has just brought out a Franchise Collection of their Child's Play/Chucky movies and I was wondering if anyone has it and can confirm that the older films have been remastered. Given the other Franchise Collections like John Candy, Schwarzenegger, Tremors etc. having new...
Here's a good queston. Anyone going to double-dip on HD titles that they already have on HD? Like the upcoming re-release of Full Metal Jacket and the recent Troy disc? I'm double-dipping on Full Metal Jacket just for the TRUE 1080P picture.
My Best Buy got copies of this and Robocop in this Tuesday and I picked both up. The Fly looks great as stated earlier but not as good as Edward Scissorhands. Yes, all the extras are there!
I bought it yesterday at Best Buy and while I was disappointed with it being encoded in MPEG-2 on a single layer I was extremely impressed with the results. I don't think AVC on a 50 gig disc would've made a huge difference. It's so sharp and crystal clear without looking filtered. There is some...
The old disc has almost a purple like colour to the TV scenes and now it looks about right with a realistic blue look without going over the edge, the other said scene is different with a completely blue look whereas the other disc had all natural looking colours, personally, I like the look of...
