So, unfortunately, I can not run wiring through the wall for my newly purchased rear speakers since these will be downstairs of a 2 story house. What options do I have for wires? I guess I'm going to have to run under the base boards, but I had thought about trying to run that flat wire under...
I thought I was set on the Sony 52w3000 but I'm now open to other opinions. I've read good things about the Samsung 5265F but worry about the ambient light reflection issues. Any other thoughts in this size and price range? Thanks!
This has all been very helpful. I do have one more quesiton. So in using my 3803, would I hook up my Blu-Ray player by BOTH analog and digital connections...analog for lossless audio on BR disks and digital for non-HD DVD's? Thanks!
Wow, thanks for all the input! So the end result is that you can ONLY play the uncompressed (high quality) audio tracks on Blu-Ray disks via an analog connection? So I wouldn't even hook up my optical or coax outputs from the player? Thank you all!
Thanks for the reply. So do you just mean running the optical or coax from the player to the 3803? I'm not sure what you mean by analog outputs? So we can still play the lossless format thru optical or coax audio connection? I love my 3803 and it stinks that such an expensive piece of...
So, technology changes so fast! Duh, I know but I paid $1K for this receiver 4 years ago and now it seems to already be outdated with the lack of an HDMI input/output. So I really like the amp, but since I've bought it I have realized that I don't have much use for the 7.1 and mutiple room...
So I just got some Def Tech ProMonitor 1000's for my rears and needed some help with the height. Unfortunately my HT room isn't huge so they won't be able to be positioned too far behind the audience. For that reason, I thought it might be better to have them a little higher and tilted downward...
I had one more question...How come you don't see more people on here with Def Tech systems? There are some for sure but I was curious as to the overall opinion of them. I guess more people like a dedicated sub rather than a powered tower.
So I have the CLR 2500 matched up with the BP 2002 TL's. I would love to stay with Def Tech and match all the drivers, but I don't like the size and flat backs for the BPX's and the like. So I was thinking of swivel mounting the ProMonitor 1000's for my rears. They have the same 5 1/4 drivers...
Fronts: Def Tech BP2002TL's
Center: Def Tech CLR 2500
No rears yet (in apartment) and no sub...except for the built in 12's and 8!
Soon to get some BPX's for surround
None taken. Like I said, I was just curious. You may very well be right. I know that I watch this forum day and night for months when rearching HT systems. After I bought my system 2 years ago, I've only been on here a hand full of times. It will drive you crazy if you always try to stay up...
Well, Some interesting feedback. My Def Tech 2002TL's and 2500 center have been amazing. Paired with a Denon 3803, they have been unbelievable to have. I have listened to other speakers, but I really think these are hard to beat. At list price, they may be a little high but that is what...
Well, I use to read on here all the time a couple of years ago but have strayed away. I am back now and love all the information on here! My question is: Why don't you ever see Definitive Techonogy speakers talked about on here? When I was researching to buy HT speakers a couple of years ago...
Thanks for the replies. Wayne, I think you make some goood points. It is amazing to me that you spend several thousand dollars on some HT equipment, and to lots of people, you're at the low-level quality of things! :frowning:
Dang it, I just wrote a really long post but it got deleted since I can't post URL's until after 15 posts or something. Basically, I appreciated everyone's feedback. Part of my wire is exposed on the "dual" bananas that I have from Radio Shack. Do I need to do something with it (i.e...
I have done lots of research on this, but wanted to get some opinions here. My system: Denon 3803 Def Tech BP2002TL towers Def Tech 2500 center I am currently running some generic 12-gauge wire with Radio Shack gold banana plug terminations but was looking to possibly upgrade. The...
Currently my system consists of: Denon 3803 Definitive Technology BP2002TL fronts Definitive Technology CLR 2500 center I am now looking to add some surrounds to the system. I would like to match the drivers of my other speakers and complete my Def Tech set-up...although I know this is...
