Actually, the 37c centre is pretty cool. It has an adjustable rod at the back to angle it as you mention. I already had it angled so hopefully today I will try pulling it out to see if there is a difference.

cool, thanks for the info. I am still not 100% clear but am I right in assuming that it basically has to do with the likelyhood of hearing something in the background.....the lower the greater the chance??? So SNR has nothing to do with the dynamic range of the sound then right???

Dave - Yeah I just figured that one out today. I was at a shop and he said "you're darn right you can hear a difference with different dvd players", so he showed me a $450 onkyo and a $1500 arcam.... Wow, there was a difference!
