Listen to frank- he knows what He is talking about. If your house is only 7 years old it should be all set up for a future basement. All you have to do is put heat ducts in every room (except bathroom is not required) probably over the windows on exterior rooms. Also you need returns in each...
I have the toshiba 57hx 83. I did a lot of res-each on these TV's before I bought. The only difference that I can see between the HX83 and the HX93 (also the only difference between the H83 and the H93), is an integrated HD tuner. Picture this, two TV's, the H series and the HX series. Then add...
First sorry for so long between posts, very busy you know. Now, yes, I have called toshiba (five times) and gotten three different part numbers from them, they have horrible tech assistance. They don't have a clue what is going on. In fact, one guy told me it was impossible to spit the signal...
Can anyone help me!!!!!!!!!! I have tried multiple time on the internet and many calls around the nation with no avail. I am not asking the world here, JUST what is the part number for the theater link cable that is included with these TV's. I don't think that is to much to ask is it? Thanks...
I am electrician by trade, and you don't have a surge of electricity, you have a lack of it. The lights are dimming because of the start up current needed by the AC compressor. That is where I would start, sounds like the compressor is drawing way to much current. Mort is right on, if that AC...
Update- repair man came friday- found a spring that had either come loose or was an extra sitting on the bottom of the set. It was laying on a circuit board and shorted out some stuff. They had to take the TV out of the house and I should hopfully have it back in about a week.
actually they were very helpfut to my wife. They contacted toshiba directly for us and then sent us an E-mail copy of the fax. They "seem" to be in our corner trying to help us out. Until then though, we put a hold on the credit card payment until this gets resolved.
All right, here is the skinny, the wife called the dealer that sold it to us and they said they could do nothing. They told her they were nothing but middle men and that it was up to toshiba to fix. Wife called toshiba and now we have to wait until next week to get a tech out here to look at it...
thanks for all of the input guys. I could not get a hold of anybody at refurbelectronics today-( I am guessing the holiday) so I will try tomorrow. I will post when I get in touch with them.
One other question, since this unit that I bought was a refurb, should I still demand a different unit? Or am I stuck withn this unit? I am really new to this home theater (first big screeen, trying to save a buck) stuff and I hope I wasn't taken. Any opinions would be a help, good or bad. thanks.
Thanks Jack and John, I will do that as soon as I can get a hold of a real person from the place I bought it from. Hopefully tomorrow morning. I was more concerned that I didn't do something correctly when i hooked up the set, or maybe a simple fix that I had never heard of. I will post after I...
I can't see any menu's or anything. The screen never changes from when it is off. The only reason that I know it is getting power is that the little light is on and the speakers are making a very slight whiring noise.
I just recieved my new tv today, well my wife took delivery on it since I was at work. The delivery guys would not remove the tv from the box and let her try it out. They just lifted the sides of the box just enough for her to reach in and grab the power plug. She pluged it in and reached up...
I also was having troubles with my remote learning codes from other remotes. Finally got it where I wanted it and it stopped working all together. Could just be a faulty remote? (Unlikely but possible) Mine would freeze up when trying to learn some times when trying to learn some signals. The...
Brent- don't do it by yourself! There is a small chance that I will have the day off tommorrow. I might be able to help you if you have no one else to give you a hand. I will post later in the evening when I know for sure, Abe

resurected forum: One last question for everyone- Are theses two tv's exactly the same on the outside dimmension wise? I am having a face front built out of oak for the front of the entertainment system and the only tv that is local in the theaterwide to get the mesurements off of. I know...
Hi all- I have a question about hooking up my SVS sub on the other side of the room from my reciver. I already have RG-6 quad ran in the walls to carry the signal from the reciever to the sub. My question lies in the conversion from the coax to the RCA cable. (I bought two sets from...
James- I looked at the sony and I could see my self getting pretty annoyed with all of the space. We rent a lot of movies and it looks to me to not have a +1 drawer. I also think it would be to big to fit in my entertainment center. too deep that is. Joe, I will look into the Yamaha when I get...
On that link above, the information is wrong. I just did some more reseach and yup the 1815 and the 2815 DO play the -r's. So, now the question is what is the better player between the two. Also- what are the big advantages of the 2200 and the 2900? Even though they are single disk, if they are...
mark- you have the 1815? and it plays -r's and -rw's? Because according to denon's web site- http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pdf...t%20021004.pdf Thanks for the info everybody.
It looks to me that the denon 1815 and the 2815 don't play cd-r's and -rw's. That Is a very important feature to me. I researched further and found last years 4800 looks to have all of the bells and whistles that I am looking for, any comment on this machine?
Hi everyone- I am really new to this home theater stuff and have (what I think) bumbled together a pretty decent set-up. TV: Toshiba 57hx83 Reciever: Denon 3805 Sub: SVS PCi 20-39 Fronts: Klipsh Reference series RB-35's and an RC-35 Surrounds: (3) Jamo in ceiling three way speakers Now...
oh boy, one for, one against. Thanks for the link Johnny. That helped out quite a bit. I have a few more weeks to think about it. If I do decied to purchase from them I will let everyone know how the transaction went. If anyone else has a comment, don't be afraid to chime in.
I was wondering if any of you folk have done business with this company? I am will be buying a toshiba 57HX83 within the next month and this company caught my eye. It seems to me that I can get a refurbished set delivered to my house with a two year extended warranty for about 300 dollars less...
