Onkyo just put a nail in the coffin. I called Onkyo directly and asked if I purchased a receiver from the U.S. could I send it back to the U.S. authorized retailer for warranty service. Onkyo reply "Once the receiver crosses the border there is no more warranty, Period". That puts an end to that...

I am looking to buy a receiver from the U.S. because even with shipping and everything it's cheaper. I find out that if I buy from the U.S. I will get NO warranty with the receiver. I will only get a warranty if I buy from over-priced Authorized Canadian Dealers. This sucks. :angry: :thumbsdown:

Ecost has a refurbished 'by Harman Kardon' AVR-325 for much less than new. Does anyone recommend purchasing a refurbished unit or has had any experiences concerning this?
