Hi. Been a while and looking for some advice on what screen, or at least what options, to look for our next-gen setup.
This is our current setup
Samsung 40" LED (at least 12 years old)
Apple TV (HD, not 4k) - HDMI
Switch - HDMI
PS3 - HDMI
BT Freeview - HDMI
Wii - Component
Sonos Beam / One SL...
Just got my first cinema amp (Yamaha RXV430RDS) and was looking at the setup for the DVD player when I came across a setting that has me confused. The player (Wharfedale DVD750) is connected to the amp by Digital Co-Ax. It gives an option to output sound as either "PCM" or "Bit-stream (MPEG)"...
Well, I've managed to get a kind of solution to this, but if anyone can suggest any further improvements I'd be happier... The solution is this: Retune the television so that AV-1 is also available as a standard channel (in my case 0). Switching to channel 0 then allows sound to be passed...
I have just made the jump and bought a 5.1 amp to add to my current setup. This makes my setup as follows: TV - WS7675 28" DVD - Wharfedale DVD750 VCR - JVC something or other Cable - TelewestDi4000 Amp - Yamaha RXV430RDS Speakers - Wharfedale Moviestar 60+ Have now got the kit set up...
