PCM or Bitstream? (1 Viewer)

Just got my first cinema amp (Yamaha RXV430RDS) and was looking at the setup for the DVD player when I came across a setting that has me confused.

The player (Wharfedale DVD750) is connected to the amp by Digital Co-Ax. It gives an option to output sound as either "PCM" or "Bit-stream (MPEG)"

Which one of these options will give me best results. Cannot find anything in the Yamaha manual and cannot find the Wharfedale's?

Cheers

Bitstream. Otherwise the player will convert other audio formats to 2-channel PCM.

I should note that I'm not familiar with this specific player, but a setting like this is pretty much standard on DVD players.

Thanks for that, can definately see/hear the difference this makes to the amp.

Lovely DTS and DD effects :)
