Yeah, I keep going back and looking at the Rockets. They get a lot of praise. Last time I checked (av123.com is down right now), the 750s were on sale for $1200. Does anyone know the regular price on those? Nevermind, they are normally $1500. Thanks archive.org. :) Also, I recently...

If you think those previously mentioned would be a lateral move, you have a lot more respect for Polk Audio than they normally receive. :) Anyway, thanks for the salk sound link, I'll check them out as well. Huh, surprising that those speakers aren't shielded. Is it possible that they...
Stephen Hopkins:
Yep, I'm 99.9% HT/Gaming. Any music listening I do is usually while watching a concert DVD. I'll have to check out those Swans, there are certainly many happy Swan owners out there.

Heh, interesting idea, but I'll tell you why I can't go that route. Believe it or not, the WAF will be -easier- with tower speakers. If I get bookshelves, it'll be a tough fight explaining the upgrade since I already have bookshelves. In her eyes, upgrade = bigger. Not that I'm...
Ahhh, bummer. So no magical speakers that will slide in perfectly with my SVS and f/x 300i's huh? :) I thought this question might be too vague, but was hoping for some good responses nonetheless. Ah right, I need to get out there and start doing some listening I think. And after some initial...
I apologize for yet another "which speakers to get" post. But everyone here knows more about speakers than I do, and you know you guys enjoy this stuff. :) It was easier when I was ignorant and just went to Circuit City and packed my movie watching room with a Polk Audio setup. Don't get me...
Short background on this piece: This song was performed by a duo called Paul and Storm during the Bob and Tom Radio Show on January 19, 2005. Paul and Storm were previously in the band Da Vinci’s Notebook. Anyway, this is their take on what the Lord of the Rings theme song would sound like if...
Sorry, you edited your post while I was typing my reply. :) John Alvarez
Well, that's really the big question. This is that personal preference I refered to earlier. How much quality are you willing to sacrifice to get more music on the player? The rule of thumb for MP3s is 128, but some...

So that means, given you have a 5MB storage medium, encoding at 128 kbps, you can fit 5m27s of music on it. So what you want to do is, plug in how much space you plan on getting (128MB, 256MB, 1GB?), then plug in your bitrate (64, 128, 192?), and it'll tell you how much music you...

According to Anandtech's review ( available here: http://anandtech.com/multimedia/showdoc.aspx?i=2084 ), the batteries lasted: "The battery life on the Digital Jukebox is specified at 20 hours, and we got approximately 19.5 hours in the first couple of days. It tapered off at 18 to...
I'm going to do my best to answer John's questions. However, I feel like I'm far from the best resource for this. So if anyone else can step in and correct me, that would be much appreciated. John Alvarez
No problem at all. :)

This does not refer to the speed of the download, but to the bitrate of the music file. A higher bitrate music file takes up more space (thus fewer songs on your player), but you get higher quality. A lower bitrate music file takes up less space (thus more songs on your player)...
Don't want to hijack this thread, but at the same time, don't want to start another "which mp3 player" thread. So just wondering if anyone can provide some advice for me. Here are my requirements: HD based, 15+ GB No silly sync software, I just want to be able to plug it in and drag-n-drop...
Had a chance to have a nice sitdown with the projector last night. Everything looks great. So anyone out there dealing with vertical lines on your Z1s, don't just assume it is vertical banding. Once again, very impressed with the service I got from Sanyo.
Don't know if anyone is reading this thread, or maybe it's just me talking to myself. But for completest sake, here is the rest of my story. I really thought the Z1 only had a 1 year warranty, but maybe I imagined it or I'm just crazy. But called support and found out it actually has a 3 year...
I thought I had my original Z1 box laying around somewhere, but I must have junked it. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to package up this thing for shipping?
Bummer :frowning: Just checked mine, and it still has the vertical lines after 2 days of rest for it. Tried playing with all the video settings but with only very slight improvement. Very sad. :frowning: Time to contact Sanyo I guess. Any chance they are gonna be nice and fix it for free...
Well, I guess that's good news. I didn't get a chance to try mine out last night, so I can't say if it still has it or not. I assume if it still does, there is nothing I can do except send it back to Sanyo for repair? Has anyone had to do that outside of their warranty period? Anyone know what...
So my beloved projector was having some issues last night. For whatever reason, it was showing thin vertical blue lines across the entire display. They were evenly spaced, probably 20 or so of them in total. I searched through HTF, and I've seen many abandoned threads that mention this, but...
Chicago (either Midway or Ohare) to Raleigh/Durham. We looked around a lot last night, and it seems Southwest has the best prices for refundable tickets. But I think you guys are right. After looking around, it seems we're best off just waiting and buying at the last minute. It might not...
So here is my story. My brother is going to having his first child in less than a month. I need to be there 8 days after the birth for the bris, but obviously I don't know when that is going to be. So just wondering if anyone has any suggestions out there on how to go about buying plane tickets...
Pretty funny episode of what I saw. Unfortunately, most of it was cut out because of storm warnings. (Notice how they make sure never to interrupt commercials for storm warnings.) Anyway, I've never had the need to try and download an episode of a tv show before now, but I'm really curious as to...
Maybe knives really taste good and nobody told me. Here's another dog from 3 years ago that swalled a knife. And this one has x-rays just for you brentl. :) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1136558.stm
