Mits DLP & Motorola Cable box

Mike, I'm not familiar with your set, but on our Mits RPTV, we have to go into the menu system and assign/activate the inputs. As an example, we use a cable HD box that I've connected via the component outs on the box to the Mits DTV Y/Pb/Pr inputs on the TV. I then had to go into the TV/Setup...

Getting the big screen up the stairs

Depending on the make/model, some can be broken down into two pieces, such as our Mitsu 65" RPTV. You might want to email/call the manufacturer. No need to suffer any more than you have to when trying to lug that thing up a flight of stairs.

Buying a Mitsubishi widescreen - should I get the built in HD or not?

Kent, I'd first check out the network broadcasters in your area. Chances are strong that in the Chicago area, most if not all of the major networks are broadcasting in HD OTA. If that's the case, I'd probably go with an internal (built-in) tuner, assuming that the price difference between the...

Quick question for Mitsubishi RPTV owners

Skip, our '04 65413 also has them on the bottom right when facing the front of the TV. I had to use longer cables as well.

ANyone else besides ATL having Superbowl HD problems?

Definitely had problems here. Heavy pixellation and audio skip throughout the second half. I ended up having to watch it in SD, not an enjoyable experience on a 65" RPTV! I figured it was TW cable, but then, all the other HD feeds were fine. Maybe it was CBS after all.

    Mitsu vs. HD STB...overscan?

Brian, Try to email Hugo Castro ([email protected]). He was kind enough to answer a question I had on our Mitsu RPTV. Also, here are a couple of links that may help out: Search results for Explorer 3250 at SA's website .pdf file - SA Explorer Setup Wizard Good luck.

    Super Bowl in Surround?

Hey, thanks guys. I'm on Time Warner HD using their Pace 550 box, so I'll give them a call. Somehow, I don't think those watching the Lngerie Bowl are going to worry too much about the audio!! AS long as they get a good picture, they'll be happy! :D

    Super Bowl in Surround?

OK, all, this will be my first Super Bowl to watch on our new 65" RPTV and I am aware that CBS is going to be transmitting in HD, but what about the audio? Are we going to get it in DD or DTS? I want to make sure everything is set up ahead of time. I tried to find the info at the CBS site, but...

    going HDTV soon, opinions needed

Before going out and shopping, I answered a few questions to myself to cut down on the sets which were "eligible" for my application. I'd recommend answering the following to the best you can: Viewing distance, room lighting (i.e. bright from windows, artificial and controllable, etc.)...

pilellation when using Time Warner HD box

OK, the guy came by and claimed that my signal strength was actually TOO STRONG. I don't really understand that, but it turns out there's nothing wrong inside my house as the signal was "too strong" even at the distribution box out back. He decided to go ahead and change out any exterior...

pilellation when using Time Warner HD box

ok, Michael. Thanks again. Guess I'll let the tech check it out. Hopefully, he'll add a signal amp somewhere that'll help me. Otherwise, I may have to go the route of a dish. TW has a sole contract for cable service here and though generally their CS is pretty good, I had to wait a WEEK to...

pilellation when using Time Warner HD box

Thanks for the response, Michael. I'm just curious though. Why wouldn't I see this on ALL channels instead of just one or two? Theoretically, wouldn't a weak signal be evident everywhere? Or, is it possible that eventhough they are all coming in on the same cable together, some could be...

pilellation when using Time Warner HD box

I've got the TW tech coming over tomorrow afternoon to diagnose a pixellation/no signal problem when using their Pace/DVI HD box. I've noticed the problem is primarily on Discovery HD, but sometimes is on others as well. Our set is a new Mitsu RPTV 65413, so I doubt that it's the problem...

    3 ch amp for L C and R

Since you're already using an Adcom for the rears, dig around for a used GFA-6000. It's a 5-ch (100x3, 60x2) I've been using to drive the three Def Techs up front for several years. Tried to find one on Ebay just before this post, but no luck.

How long will HD signals be considered a premium service?

Here in San Antonio, Time Warner charges 6.95/mo for the HD box only, or $5/mo if combined with a package. FWIW, we get a choice of boxes for HD also, though they don't promote it. Choices are Scientific Atlanta Explorer or Pace. I chose the Pace as it has a DVI output. Otherwise, the two seem...

Which Rear Projection TV to buy????

No, John, I don't think they do. Most Mitsubishi CRT-based RPTVs (WS series) accept only 480p and 1080i natively, while 480i is converted to 480p, and, if I'm not mistaken, 540 and 720 are not even accepted. At least, that's how I read the specs in their '04 catalog. Richard, did I miss...

    going to audition some AVR's

It depends on your needs. By all means, take some favorite CDs and/or DVDs and audition them on the various receivers using your model speakers. Make sure that these are samples of what you'll be listening to on a regulare basis. I don't recall if CC has a dedicated listening room(s), but be...

Mitsubishi WS-48413 IR Link setup problem

Mike, here are a few suggestions, which you may have already tried: 1. Make sure you know which IR emitter jacks you are using. If using the non-NetCommand ones, then you have to use the device's own remote. If you're using the NetCommand ones, then you should be able to fully program the TV...

Anybody know where I can see the Mitsubishi WS-82913 on display?

Well, heck. No way Bjorn or any other retailer will match THAT price! :D UPDATE: I don't know how accurate his info is, but Bjorn ran an add during the Cowboy's playoff game last night in which he claims that he's one of only 6 dealers nationally that have this unit.

Anybody know where I can see the Mitsubishi WS-82913 on display?

Yeah, I do. Unfortunately, it's a little further from you than a short commute. Bjorn's here in San Antonio (no site yet) has it in the showroom. Incredible. They were running Finding Nemo when I last was there, before Christmas. Can't help you much with the tech info, but if you've got...

    Line doubler in Mitsubishi RPTVs?

Aaron, congrats on the new set. We just took delivery on a new Mits65413 and the salesman told me that the line doubler is automatic on all analog signals. I'm sure that since your model is one step above ours, it'll be automatic on your unit as well. Hey, Chris: component cables ARE RCA...

    Mitsu 65413 deal ..good enough?

Thanks a bunch, Gregg, for the quick response. (I kept checking the private mesg area instead of here for a response!!) Regarding Conns v Sears, I'm not a big fan of either, but the Sears 10% off is what's swaying me their direction and, since it's only good until 10am today, I thought the...

    Mitsu 65413 deal ..good enough?

Need to decide quickly, so I'd appreciate some quick thoughts... After a lot of research, I'm very close to getting the Mitsu 65413, but wanted some opinions of the deal. On Sat morning (12/20) from 7-10 am, Sears is offering another 10% off of everything in the store. Here's the...
