I finally got it to work. Took lots of playing around and just trying different things. So now I can take the batteries out of 8 remotes and put the remotes away and have only 1 remote. The MX-500 rocks.

Hi All, Just got mine today. It supposedly ships with the latest firmware. I checked my set up and it says it is 1.1.5. Is this up to date? Also any good tips for me. I have it hooked up to the hi def input on my infocus x1. Thanks Dave

Home Theater Master MX-500 rocks except for...

I have a kenwood receiver. On the remote there is one button too toggle thru DVD, VCR1, and VCR2. And another button to toggle thru tuner, cd, tape, phono. I can't for the life of me teach the MX-500 to do this. The preset kenwood codes don't help at all either. Any help? Thanks Dave

Help me pick a Screen for my X1!!!

I sit about 10'-13' from the screen. I don't think I'd want to sit much closer. Not sure where to buy online. I bought mine locally from a A/V company. Dave

3 VGA connestions into the X1?

OK did up a little drawing of what I am talking about. I already have 2 25' cables. So it would be cheaper for me to buy 1 25 footer and do the switching close to the x1 rather than buy 3 short cables and do the switching at the front of the room and run 1 25' to the x1. I guess...

3 VGA connestions into the X1?

Currently use: Hi-def cable box component out to VGA in on the X1. (25' run) DVD component out to S-Video on the X1. (25' run) H-def cable box s-video out to s-video on X1. (25' run)(manual switch DVD and cable s-video to watch non hi-def channels). Composite video for X-box. (25' run) I...

    Am I wierd?

Ok i bought an X1 and have not seen a rainbow at all. I do however see the screen door effect. I'm assuming the screen door effect is seeing the actual pixels and it looks like your looking thru a screen door. My screen is 13' from the projector and I also sit 13' from the screen. I have a...

Help me pick a Screen for my X1!!!

I recently purchased an X1 along with a Da-Lite modelB high contrast white matte 60" by 80". My projector is about 13 1/2 feet from the screen. I am able to control the light for the most part, and I am quite happy withg my setup. Dave

    Progressive scan DVD?

Looking for some opinions. Just bought an X1 a couple of weeks ago. I have an older Sony DVD player and was wondering if a progressive scan DVD player would be that much better? I currently have my hi-def cable box hooked up to the VGA input on the projector. If I go with a progressive scan I...

starting fresh in new apartment.. which tv??

Where are you located? I've never seen a FP set up at Best Buy or Circuit City. Ultimate Electronics had a couple set up but I don't think it was an X1. Otherwise you could call infocus and see what dealers are in your area. They may have someone thats not a "big" retailer. Dave

starting fresh in new apartment.. which tv??

Adam, I too am in apartment and my seating distance is 13". Instead of going with a TV, i decided to go front projector. My screen size is 100" with the projector 13" from the wall. HD Channels are awesome. (5 bucks a month more for comcast box than normal digital cable box). DVD's are...

    Hooked my new X1 tonight!!!!!

All I have to say is WOW. I don't even have my screen yet. Projecting in a very off white somewhat dirty wall. Went from a 36" Sony flat screen to a 100", unbelievable. And to think this cost the same as the 36" sony after all is said and done. If any of you are looking to get into something...

Taking the plunge to a FP.... a few questions

Thanks for the input guys. I think to keep initial costs down I'm going to do this. Run the Component to VESA adapter for the HD cable box. The normal composite video for the xbox. And normal s-video for the DVD (would the compoent to s-video adapter make much of a difference?) I have to...

Taking the plunge to a FP.... a few questions

Hi all, looks like i will be purchasing an infocus x1 in the next week or two. Big question on my mind. How do I hook up component cable box (HDTV), compnoent DVD player, and component Xbox? I have seen the adapter that allows you to hook up one component to the VESA plug on the projector, but...

Can I use progressive scan dvd...

Thanks for the answers. So with progressive scanned turned off the display will be just like the normal DVD player I have now? (which is pretty good I think). Will I have any problem getting to the menu on the DVD player to turn progressive scan off? Or is the menu just interlaced and its not...

Is this normal for a new Sony?

I just purchased a new Sony KV-36FS100 and I love it. But it seems to have some color problems. When there is a white background like a hockey game, the center of the screen seems to be white but as you go out from the center it turns a little pinkish and then by the sides a little greenish. I...

    Sony or Toshiba 36"

Jack, When you say ATSC, I'm assuming you mean HDTV? Will a HDTV capable unit make my standard cable look better? To get a HDTV set whether it be DV or RP by the time I am done with a stand and extended warranty I am looking at 2000. The Toshiba (36 inch flat screen)with a stand and extended...

    Sony or Toshiba 36"

Hi all, I am going to buy a new TV this week. I have done alot of thinking and pricing. I live in an apartment with a viewing distance of about 8 feet. My main viewing is analog cable and 2 or 3 DVD's per week. Can't get satellite. I have had a Toshiba 35" for about 10 years and the color and...

    New TV Purchase?

Thank you all for your opinions. Sounds like I should definately go HD TV. And most of you seem to think widescreen too. Can anyone tell me about the stretch modes? What I gather is the widescreen will take a normal analog signal and stretch it to the size of the of the screen? Dang there is so...

    New TV Purchase?

Tim, Circuit City doesn't have any Sony analog RPTV. The sony I was talking about is the 36" Flat Screen KV36FV300. Best buy has the 53" sony analog RPTV. But they don't have reviews. So your saying being that I watch 3 movies a week the hi def is worth the money even though I don't have...
