B&K or Krell (though Krell seemed to easily jump out of my price range. Rotel is a good option as well not sure with the 805's but I run a 1075 with my B&W's (9nt's,7nt's CNT) You will most certainly want a sub with the 805's nice choice BTW
Bump! Just kidding I agree with the Ins thing. but I am going to buy a product from the web and waive the replacement warranty. Which I think is a hoax anyway but I am more interested in conditioning than surges
Neal I would save up and get into a pre/pro. I have the 3803 and a 1075 as well don't get me wrong it is working out good I am just looking for even more (much like the AVM 20 feature set) when I make a change. But with that said I bet it would make a good pre/pro and in theory should knock down...
Well I got it all working thru the JP1 stuff! Yea! Actually I got every advanced code to work that I have. I did notice that some of the EFC's are incorrect in the listing I posted above but all the OBC are correct. Chuck my main problem I was having was I had the wrong remote selected in the...
Thanks Chuck, I was trying the 0160 codes. I have the JP1 stuff and have never tried it out until yesterday with no luck but haven't given it a real hard go at it. I was able to create a new device and get it into the remote it doesn't appear real difficult but just trying to find the correct...
Erik, Did you use the device 0160 and 218 to get the vid select to work? My 3803 doesn't respond to any of the advanced codes I have tried with the 3803 :frowning: I have used the same procedure to program other codes to my OFA then to my MX500. Here is a listing of the advanced codes I came...
Scott I am using my 3803 as a pre connected to a rotel amp. It is working out excellent. The 3803 has all the features that need well most of them. I took this approach as an upgrade route and will be replacing the 3803 in the future however I will probably add another amp first then probably...
For 4k this may be good option (less interconnects) Denon 3803 $800 or if you can swing an additional 400 bucks get the Rotel 1066 Rotel 1075 amp $1000 SVS 20-31PCi $550 B&W CDM 1NT’s (or the 700 series equivalent) $1200 B&W CDM CNT (or the 700 series equivalent) $500 Then later you...
Dan, You are correct on the break in. I know when I ordered my 9Nt's I brought home some floor models and used them for almost 2 weeks before mine came in. When I brought my new ones home there was a huge difference between the broken in floor models and the new ones. Actually I just mentioned...
Hi, My wife just called me and her work has three New in the box TH-42PWD5UY's that they are going to let go to the highest employee bidder. I am really not in the market for a palsama but I am thinking I might be able to snag one for around $1000-1200 (maybe less?). I have a Tosh 57 hdx82 for...
You my think I am nuts but I would recommend JBLPro's. I just outfitted my Sports bar with these and Crown amps and it actually sounds pretty damn good in the huge space it is in. Kind of spendy but it defintely puts out....but hell it was write off too
I had heard that the CDM's were going to be replaced this fall I guess it was true. I would be interested in the "whats improved" story. But I must say I think the 9nt's still look better than the 703's
I would venture to guess the B&W's would appreciate more power than that. My shop runs the CDM series on the rotel 1090 380x2. And the Nat's on high current Classe gear.
Thanks Wayne not sure if it is a Rotel B&W feeling or just the sound of good high current power all I know is I am sitting in the same spot again tonight with a cocktail listening to "heaven" :D
Well I have had my new Rotel 1075 in house for a couple of weeks and thought it was time to share my experience’s for both the amp and the Denon 3803 as a pre/pro. Speakers Fronts- CDM 9NT’s Surrounds- CDM 7NT’s Center- CDM CNT Sub- SVS 20-39PC+ CD/DVD- Denon 1600 Let me first state...
Andrew I will be heading to Club Rotel over soon since I belong now :)! Hey I was looking at you rack set up and noticed you have the 1098 sitting on top of your 1075. No problems? I would think it would be fine as the 1075 at least mine runs really cool just barely warm to the touch. The reason...
Skyler- How do you like the LM's I was thinking on picking up a pair of those for the rears I don't have much space to work with. Oh crap then I would be 2 channels short on amplicication agian...I hate when that happens
WOW thanks for all the input! The verdict played out like this. There was some missing info however. I am intending to move into the Nautilus line in the next year and going into this I was pretty pleased with the HT side of my setup (not knowing any better) but really it sounded pretty good. I...
Thanks Skyker, great info. Just what I needed another angle :) What are you running for surrounds? I hear what you are saying about the Denon but it isn't that bad as I have everything set to small too. But it is night and day with either the 1075 or the 1080 that I auditioned this weekend...
I was thinking on moving the 1080 to the 7nt's at the time I picked up the 1090. But you are right that still leaves the center hooked to the Denon. I have been struggling with this the whole weekend and have asked my guy to hold off ordering until I can figure it out. The more I am thinking the...
Hello well I finally made up my mind on some off board power would like some opinions on how I did and where to go in the future. Here is my current setup, well the important parts Denon 3803 Denon 1600 Toshiba 57HDX82 Fronts CDM 9NT's Center CDM CNT Rears CDM 7NT's SVS 20-39 Pc+ Room...
What do you think? I know this is way pushing the WAF but if you had the room and the wife as I do what would you do? The cost is about the same...and I must say 4 tubes would be pretty cool Jeff
Frank- The 802 might be in my future......crossing fingers. I have some amp upgrading to as well. But I agree if not the 803 are the next step. Have you heard the Sonus Faber's? I have no clue where to audition these around here, would be worth a drive? Take care Oh one more thing who makes...
Ditto on Franks reply I started with 604's and now I have the the CDM's (9's, center and 7's). My B&M has the 1 year upgrade deal and this fall I will be moving into the Nautilus- unsure of which ones yet
I guess I am lucky! My guy is great and gives me some good discounts as well! But this is a very small family owned store that just happens to sell everything I like:emoji_thumbsup:
