Also, for those thinking that they cant get DDTrueHD 5.1 on the A2, as long as you have HDMI of any verison, it will work. BUt it you dont have HDMI, then yeah, it looks like either new reciever or the XA2. I dont think its too bad a deal to be honest, we probably got away with more than we...
Hey kami, i agree. I remember being here back when fellowship was about to be released. I remember your posts and lou's and chucks the most. It was 3 years of anticipation and it was awesome!
Well i managed to get a small tv and set it up that way, it was pretty painless. It did strike me as strange that it cant be done without it, as in the manual it states, run the auto setup through the GUI or through unit, for this example we'll use GUI. And then it doesnt state anywhere how to...
Hey guys, just bought this yesterday and unfortunately I cant connect the monitor out to my tv as the tv juts died. THing is though, I cant even get to a menu on the unit itself and cant find anything in the manual. It always uses the GUI in the manual. Im stuck and cant do anything without a...
Yes. TrueHD over analog is decoded in the A1 and passed through to the receiver in its lossless format. Over digital-Coax,Optical,HDMI 1.1, it is re-encoded in DTS at a certain bit rate, 3mbs, could be wrong. So yes, to take full advantage of TrueHD you need to continue using analog untill HDMI...
Well it would work over HDMI 1.1 but it would be re-encoded into a DTS bitstream. You would still need Analog 5.1 to receive proper TrueHD. HDMI 1.3 is needed for digital. PS. Paul knows more about that subject than me :)
I just bought the fellowhip complete recordings and it totally brought back some great memories. Seems like soo long ago that i was waiting for fellowship to open at the cinema. Then it was non-stop lotr action from there. Posting here, checking theonering.net constantly, reading the books etc...
Thanks for the information guys. I think i will go for a motorized one and hopefully i can mount it on a couple of screws and get away with it in the place im renting :)
I dont think mine stretches vertically, atleast i dont know how to do it. I notice that if i watch 1:85:1 is perfect but on 2:35:1 i have black bars top and bottom.
So far ive managed to use my Panny AE700 on my beige wall in a rented apartment with satisfactory results. I really wanted to get a screen and apart from models etc there is some things I dont quite understand. I see that they come is aspects 16:9 and 4:3. For me its just for DVD so obviously...
Thats awesome! I just ordered a Yammy RXV2600 coz i couldnt wait for a receiver that decodes DDTrueHD etc. But now im not regretting it..this will do it itself!..just not over HDMI 1.3 of course :)
Yay...im so excited! Im going to see the Clerk II opening in Melbourne! Kevin Smith will be there to do a Q and A. I cant wait. My first premier of a movie and I get to see Kevin Smith. Im sure it will be hilarious.
Yeah as soon as i pull the speaker away, the color completely goes. As soon as it enters the top to the tv it begins. Will it damage the tv if i have it on top without the tv on? Its a bit dissapointing, the Dali centre isnt really a budget speaker. I mean, i shouldnt have to pay $1000 for a...
Aaron, my current receiver doesnt have pre-outs. If so, then yeah, that would have been a good suggestion. It seems as though everything we own will be redundant when the full HD comes into swing. As HDMI 1.3 will be need on everything to get full advantage. That means, new display and receiver...
Ah ok. I've actually never used my analoge inputs, only used Optical and Coax. So if i can set crossover etc through analog it will be ok?..is that what you mean?
I've just tried to put my Dali Concept Centre speaker on top of my Toshiba CRT set and im getting quite bad purple and blue colorization. The speaker says its shielded but yet it still does it. I've also tried an older Sony centre speaker(also says shielded) and it does the same. As soon as i...
Do you think that the HD-DVD players themselves will have capabilties to decode DolbyTrue HD/DTS HD 5.1? I seriously cant hold of buying a receiver, so if I can use analogue outputs via the HD-player, then im only missing out on HDMI 1.3 right?
I havent watched a LOTR film in over a year. Thats a big deal for me. I was definately in the "Obsessive" corner with these films. And I'm actually really happy for it. I feel its time now to go back and watch them with a little more freshness. Since my last viewing i've also bought a projector...
Im sure to alot of you americans and so forth this movie is old news, but its just made it to Australia. I was lucky enough to win 2 tickets to an advance screening the other day and its still stuck in my mind. This is a great first film for any director and its executed flawlessly. The main...
Hey guys, I just got some cash that i wanna burn and I dont think I can hold out on a receiver till next year when they support the new HD formats. Currently im using a Yammy rxv496..pretty old school. So im looking at maybe getting the 2600. Hopefully I can hear some improvement over the...
Bugger, if i was only gonna import HD-DVD's it would be ok. But a waste of money if it only plays Region 1 dvd's. I'll need it to play Region 4 aswell. Well there goes that idea!..looks like I'm waiting. Just hope its the same player that makes it to Australia
I live in Australia and am thinking about importing one of these suckers, but my question is, is the player Region free? I can find instances where they say there is no region for HD...but im only finding speculations on if its the same for the SD dvd it plays. Its no good to me if I cant...
THanks guys, so what type of batter backup do they make? I've only ever heard of UPS's and as Leo said, they change the wave. I am using a LCD panel. If power drops, ill just unplug it and leave it. As long as that doesnt ruin it im satisfied. As long as when power drops and comes back on, the...
Ok, so if the power goes off completely, just unplug it and let it sit and itll be ok. Or if the power goes off, then back on again..just leave it off also? I thought that it goes off unexpectingly, then you turn it back on straight away..while its hot, then the globe explodes? Im running it...
Hey guys. I was just wondering what you do with your projector if the power goes off during a movie? I've never really thought about it until the power went off the other day, I was thankfull I wasnt using it. So does everyone use a UPS or whatever they are? Or does it damage it to be turned...
Thats a good question. Anyone able to try it out? I would be using it mostly for my Panny AE700 but for day time would prob be handy to put through the PC LCD!
