Anyone remember this 40s or 50s movie

I saw this movie when I was a kid. There was a criminal investigation, probably involving a murder. Apparently, on the night it happened a boy in bed woke and saw a shadow on a wall outside his bedroom door. He told the police that it was an Indian. It was a woman who wore a hat with one...

    4K Ultra Short Throw Projector

I recently heard of the Hisense 4k ultra short throw projector. A 100" picture from about 4 inches away from the screen, 108" from a bit farther. It includes speakers and screen. $9,999. Today I learned that Dell has something very similar, but without the speakers and screen for $5999. I...

Help identifying a movie from the 1940s or 50s.

I saw this movie as a young boy. I think there was a murder. Apparently the only somewhat of a witness was a young boy in his bed at night. He saw the shadow of a woman who wore a cap-type hat with a feather sticking up at the back. When people were looking for answers, he said he saw the...

Why has The Grey Fox never made it to disc (DVD or Blu-ray)?

Sorry, title should be "...to disc..." It was a very good movie and Richard Farnsworth was excellent.

Levi Stubbs not with the Four Tops on Letterman

I was looking forward to seeing the Four Tops on Letterman last night (Tuesday, 3/15/05) but was surprised that lead singer Levi Stubbs was not there. If anyone knows why, I'd appreciate knowing the reason. Thanks.

What movie do you belong in? Note: Your choice, not determined by the quiz.

Instead of having a quiz determine which movie you should be in, what movie do you think you belong in? As I added in the quiz-determined topic, Fight Club was chosen for me, but if I chose for myself, I would be in Slap Shot since I played hockey for most of my life (from 13 to 54, and would...

Diane Lane at the Actors Studio, 2/8/04

I've been in love with Diane Lane for many years. Her interview at the Actors Studio reinforced how lovely, intelligent and articulate she is. We learned that her mother was a Playmate of the Month in 1957 "before nipples and before it became gynecological." We learned that Diane, at...

Interesting article about the Warner Legends collection in the Washington Post

An interesting article by TV critic Tom Shales about the Warner Legends collection appeared in the Washington Post on Sunday, November 16th. I especially liked one statement, "The DVD is the greatest boon to film preservation ever, because it has made restoring films economically viable to...

Eva Cassidy - another CD coming!

Another posthumous collection, Imagine, will be released August 20, 2002. My wife and feel blessed to have met this lovely, sweet woman and to have seen her a few times, including at Blues Alley (where she autographed her Live at Blues Alley CD for us, and at Carter Barron Amphitheater with...

Warners: Please release Wrestling Ernest Hemingway on DVD

This is a wonderful movie! Robert Duvall is excellent as a shy, retired Cuban barber. Richard Harris is a wonderful braggart as a former sea captain. Sandra Bullock, Shirley McLaine and Piper Laurie are great in supporting roles. This movie is more than worthy of a DVD release.

    Gregory's Girl due 11/6/01

If you enjoyed Bill Forsyth's movies (e.g., Local Hero) in the theater, his charming awkward-adolescence movie Gregory's Girl is due 11/6/01. I enjoyed it, but doubted it would make DVD-land. I'm pleased that it has, in 1.85:1 anamorphic but only mono soundtrack. [Edited last by Joe Bernardi...
