No expert advice here. HOWEVER, I would audition the 100s before you make a commitment, because I was kinda in the same boat as you. I auditioned the 60s and loved them and assumed the 100s would sound better, but when I auditioned the 100s I prefered the 60s sound MUCH more.

I never noticed that the V2s were yellow too! Perhaps it is brighter? Different texture? but anyway. Thanks for pointing that out. Side by side, I definitely prefered the look and sound of the V3s.

Hey, I am looking to buy a pair of 60s. I was at my dealer about 2 weeks ago, I asked about V3 and he knew nothing about it. I went in a few days ago and he had 20s 40s and the new 3 way CC in V3. I had a quick audition and a&b on the 40s and the V3 is very open. It really sounded nice...

Wow, thanks for all the replies. It seems I have a lot of options and a ton of research ahead of me. I never thought of DIY, I will definitely check that route and also check out all the other brands. And yes I have heard of the SVS subs :) how could I not? I am looking to spend about $600...
