    "The Alamo"s Status?

Waited for years for this to reappear on TCM. A terrible pan and scan was on a premium movie station a while back. The print was acceptable and I transferred it onto dvd-r. I can imagine what a restoration would look like but until that becomes a project or even just remastered for Blu ray...

    "The Alamo"s Status?

Hi Matt, So many beautiful movie themes that year but GLOS certainly is one that is forgotten. The Brothers Four did a beautiful rendition of it and I was able to find it on karaoke to record with my less than stellar singing voice myself.

I got it too but most if not all of the titles I either purchased already or recorded onto DVD-R from TCM-HD.Saw "Crisis" starring Cary Grant for the first time. Great film not really known by many and would recommend it as being one of the five for anybody's order.

Good to see that WB will releasing both versions of "The Squaw Man". What I assume is a poor quality release of the silent 1914 has been available from Alpha Video for some time so it is my guess the original version has been public domain. I know the print quality of it that was aired on...

I felt the same way about some titles I wouldn't mind having but waited for them to drop in price. I also always check TCM's schedule to see if any are going to be aired within the next two months since I also dub them onto DVD-R (except for the really good technicolor remastered ones which I...

Hi, Know they hold the competition each year for those new scores. Lots of times TCM also airs silents released in Europe on DVD (region 2) that are not available in the U.S.

Was finally able to get "Safe In Hell" at a good discount price (5/50) which is the one I really wanted. With the five I was also able to add "The Bad Seed" which WB sells for just $4.95. As a silent film buff, wish more of the pre-talkies would be released - have every single title already...

Unfortunately, "Safe In Hell" wasn't one of the over 900 titles that was part of the buy 2/get 1 free sale this past week.

WB Archive having a sale on many (but not all titles) buy two and get one free. Free shipping still applies.

Thanks Bob, Can now understand why I missed it. Instead of the details simply following the description, there instead appears recommendations for other films. Didn't bother to scroll down further. Joe

Hi Bob, I looked for a timing on the archive site - couldn't find any so that's why I went to TCM. Where did I miss it? Just want to confirm that film is the complete and restored edition before purchasing it. Joe

"Safe In Hell" is listed at 72 minutes at IMDB but on TCM website the length is just 65 minutes. Also saw the clip on the WB Archives and it opened with the title and then immediately went to that scene with the girl being escorted into the hotel. No timing provided in the information. Short...

Thanks for the clarification. A loony tunes fan myself, I never realized the censored cartoons always being referred to were eleven that have haven't been seen - always thought they were ones that were edited like the one I referred to. Have the Bosco collection and can understand why those...

I believe those censored Loony Tunes appear on the DVD collections issued by WB. I have a few of of the boxed sets and each has a video introduction by Whoppie Goldberg warning that the cartoons were complete, uncensored and reflected the racial attitudes and stereotypes of the time. One I know...
