I'm getting totally DISGUSTED with collecting TV series on DVD

Staying on (original) topic... Regarding Time-Compression and the stand that it's invisible, not to me. I hate watching that crap, because I see artifacts. I regularly see what looks like a skipped frame giving anything in motion a weird staccato look. A smooth pan turns into pan BUMP pan...

Significant "ringing" on Sony KDP-65XBR2. Anyone else??

I just finished evaluating a KDP-65XBR2 at the local B&M. While lighting conditions were a bit harsh, I tried to set up as good a compromise as possible. My main objectives were to determine if the XBR2 suffers from the same "banding" and other technical flaws as the XBR10W and HS10 series sets...

    Sony HS10 banding fix?

Right, I forgot about that (must be some merciful mental mechanism at work!) They may also change a small "chip" capacitor (which sometimes doesn't help, either!) Doesn't hurt to call.

Some units...

Possible new widespread defect in Sony HS10/XBR10W RPTVs?

I'm begging other owners to check their set for THIS defect; I'll describe it as best I can: As overall picture brightness goes down, shadow areas get "squashed" to black, and each CRT has a different "response," so there is also a false color edge created. Test patterns which reveals it well...

    KP-57XBR10W questions

I own the 65XBR10W. These are just my personal opinions based on my needs and test evaluations...and I tested Sony, Mits and Tosh INTENSELY. I don't think the store likes having me around so much! "First off, is this the best TV for that price range? If not, any suggestions of which is better."...

SVS 16-46PC SW is in the RAF House - A Review

Hey Frank! Does the term "Tunguska" mean anything to you? I hope you're nowhere near a fault line! You could trigger The Big One!

    Blank Videotape Test Results

I just ordered some broadcast-quality tapes to check out in my JVC 9600. I've been using Sony V, TDK XP Pro, and Maxell. I have a feeling I could do better than these. I'll let you know how the new ones look. A note: I have a JVC 6900 which exhibits white horizontal dancing streaks (due to a...
