Boris,
Nice to see you, who were interested in Wilmslow products. Though I am living in USA, I prefer speakers from UK, and envied DIY people in UK, actually...:)
I am not sure how good is the Seas tweeter used in IPL front speakers, but Morel one seems better. I am using ProAc Studio 200...
Nice to see you classical fans here. Best Buy in Austin/Cedar Park, TX has some limited, but not too bad classical CD collection. However, I feel the classical music business keeps shrinking, and we have to rely on a few major on-line dealers, more and more. I actually dream of very high-quality...
If you really want to capture those 96/24 DVD's and encode them into MP3, AND you are good at C programming and WAV file format, I may be able to write a core code that downsamples audio into 1/2 sample rate. Then you should integrate it with WAV file reader, WAV file writer to make a crude S/W...
I don't think the Telarc CD is a substandard. Maazel/VPO combination would be the best Telarc can get recorded, as well as Richard Strauss' Alpine Symphony by Previn/VPO. I know that Maazel's interpretation is quite different from Solti's or Boulez', but I like it, too, and who can question...
ForresterW,
Thank you for your reply. I thought you were an American, guessing from your ID. Then, I am curious how many Koreans were posting in this thread...:)
So far, I just bought Shiri from dvdasian.com. I ordered it, but they replied that they had no stock. I contacted them for...
As far as I know, MP3 doesn't support those 2x sampling rates. New MP3Pro coding may do that, but I guess not.
MPEG-2 AAC and DTS96/24 codings are known to support this, but I doubt AAC's capability to make audible improvement or difference from 48/16 or 44.1/16 materials, as even audible...
I have the CD from Telarc, and it is really recommendable to audiophiles. I love it. Another maybe from London/Decca, conducted by Georg Solti and recorded recently in CD era. Its sound is amazing too.
I bought DVD player RP-91N and JVC camcorder with some accessories. I had no problem with the procedures and products, and price was great. I remember their shipping was just a little slow.
Maybe I am repeating somebody already said, but let me add a comment on hybrid SACD.
I believe the main reason Sony doesn't release hybrid SACD is that they cannot guarantee 100% compatibility with existing CD players. DVD layer can bother the CD players badly that they can not read the CD...
Could anybody share information on DTV's with DVI/HDCP input? I know that many FPTV's have DVI inputs, but is there any new direct-view TV's or RPTV's with DVI/HDCP inputs, as the industry promised last year? I am looking forward to your kind replies.
