wouldnt a switcher defeat the purpose of pure analog out to a source ?

the cable you speak of is A/V cable for tha PS3 not the HDMI out for it.. two seperate conenctions in the back.. I would go HDMI out to the TV and than optical in to the reciever.

curios as to what settings some of you are using the in video / audio set up of the PS3 ? i am trying to figure out the difference in RGB and the other cpyb(??) dave

it sounds like its trying to find how the signal is coming in as mentioned above.. I have encountered similar with my DTV digital audio signal prior to getting a new dish and going HD i noticed the signal was much more tempermental in Dolby Digital. Sounds like the problem is with the cable co.

well the panamax is a power conditioner with no vents i dont think the thing even get hot.. the vents for the rotel are along the top and there is still a good 5-6 inches around the thing for ventilation i was more concerned with any odd emf or frequencies coming off the panamx and disruptign...

i just bought a new entertainment center with a large enough space in the bottom center (glass doors in front) to fit my panamax 5100 and rotel 1057 anythoughts on me just sitting the rotel on top of the panamax ? there is no shelf in here... i dont think i should sit the panamax on the...

turns out the sales associate told me they had the wrong model in stock it was the 56" i just went to pick it up and NOW NO TV.. back to my search.. and one have any reccomendations.. ?? 56/57" specific models -- JVC / Mitsu / ??

well i found the Toshiba 57HM167 for 1400 at the local sears still in stock and couldnt say no.... :)
