receiver suggestion for SVS system speakers.....>

I just ordered the SVS MTS-01 full size speaker sytem with the PB13 ultra sub. I would sure appreciate some guidance in choosing an appropriate receiver to go with the system & ease of operation is a plus. Thanks in advance, - Cam EDIT: It is the 5.1 system

I want to turn my garage into a subwoofer cabinet

Sorry Mike, I guess just a poor choice of words. I have not done an IB "yet", but probably will in the near future. I knew that it was just as loud on either side of the baffle, & was just curious how loud it would be outside the garage when it was closed up as i didnt want to impose "too"...

I want to turn my garage into a subwoofer cabinet

Mike, I had this same idea a while back & it was mentioned that the garage doors and all might rattle & be loud "outside" the house as this was my concern at the time.......

Twin 1804 IB up and running! Need some BFD suggestions!

Gotcha Chris.........thats what I figured. You will definetely have need more power as I am sure those are every bit (and more) as hungry as a 1503 is. Gotta love that LOW stuff!! :D

Twin 1804 IB up and running! Need some BFD suggestions!

Why would a dual 1804 IB have such low db levels, or was this just readings at a low volume level?

    How's this?

Some drivers do require more power to sound good even at low levels. What size enclosure will you be using?

    Tempest 214L stuffing.

The only stuff(ing) I used in my 214L vented AA Tempest was the "sheet" batting from a cloth store & I lined the sides of the box........sounds awesome, although I have already upgraded from there....lol

    How's this?

If you are putting this driver in a small sealed enclosure (less than 1 cu. ft.), you will need at least 500w-600w rms at 2 ohms to get good sound out of it. just my .02 :)

    Tempest Box Plans...PICS!!

Putting the sub in the entertainment center is great to keep the room looking good, but the best place for the sub (probably 95% of the time if not more) would be in the corner of the room. How far from the corner will it be located if put where you intend to? movin to Texas.....:D

Are there any DIY DAC kits around?

OK.....you knew I was bound to ask sooner or later. In "laymans" terms....what the heck is it. It gathered it converts from "digital to analog". If this is correct, why would you want to? as always..... :b
