Ronin is a great spy thriller, unfortunately it doesn't seem to get the affection (imo) that it should. Great car chase sequence in it, too. De Niro seems to have ported over his performance from Heat for his character here, and I think it fits this story much better.

Hillcoat is a good choice for director, I loved his other Western, The Proposition. But I'm still sad that this project didn't get off the ground when Todd Field was attached as its director...that would have been amazing.

The Longest Yard is just a jock version of Cool Hand Luke. Not as signifcant culturally but a helluva lot funnier. It's also the '70s film that solidified Reynold's ascent as a box-office superstar, for better or worse.

Most likely because a lot of municipalities or businesses are either too poor or too cheap to upgrade their surveillance systems. I'm sure in 1995 or so when that camera was first installed it was state of the art (hey, lookee! We should be on the lookout for a guy with a red baseball hat!).
