Yes, it is the issue. Me and other people noticed the same effect. Currently, I'm using decoders in RP-91, so problem went away.

Can you guys compare firmware versions on players which do/don't play gold CDs? Latest FW version for RP91 is 2.36. It's easy to upgrade at home.

I use ZOOM mode for 4:3 material on my Panny 47". It doesn't distort the image, but crops top and bottom parts, and TV allows to scroll picture vertically.
