Trinnov wins third EISA award and Technics introduces new turntable

Trinnov has won the 2022-23 EISA 40 Award for the Amplitude16 16-channel multi-channel amplifier. After operating for nearly 40 years, the European Imaging and Sound Association is a group of personnel from 61 specialized magazines in 29 countries, and is considered the “largest editorial collaboration in the world of consumer electronics”. Each year, expert groups within the association select what they deem to be the best products in several categories. In 2016, the Altitude32 processor won an EISA Award and,  in 2020, the Altitude Platform (Altitude32 and Altitude16), received an EISA for best product in the home theater high-end category.

Trinnov’s co-founder and CEO Arnaud Laborie says, “The addition of a very cost-effective, high-performance and versatile 16-channel power amplifier such as the Amplitude16 to our range of award-winning and industry-leading processors is a logical step that increases Trinnov’s impact on the industry.”

Technics has announced the availability of a new SL-100C direct drive turntable. The high-caliber spinner comes with what the Japanese manufacturer terms the Technics brand’s “iconic characteristics”, including a coreless direct drive motor and high-precision S-shaped aluminum tonearm. The SL-100C promises to deliver greater ease on the wallet than the award-winning SL-1500C sibling. The new turntable is only available from Technics direct or from Amazon, and will set you back $999.99.

“With the ongoing success of the multi-award-winning SL-1500C, the new, more affordable SL-100C is poised to take the lead as the most desirable $1,000 coreless direct drive turntable on the market. The SL-100C keeps the key performance attributes of the SL-1500C to reach a wider audience and is a welcome addition to the Technics Premium Class. We have high expectations for demand and look forward to seeing buyers’ enthusiasm,” says Bill Voss, US Business Development Manager.
