Epson EpiqVision laser TV wins CTA award

Epson has announced that the EpiqVision Ultra LS500 4K laser projector has won the Consumer Technology Association’s Mark of Excellence Award for Best Video Display Product of the Year. Presented by the Smart Home Division of CTA, the awards recognize the best in custom integration and installed technology. Epson says that during a year when consumers spent more time than before in their homes, the award is a “testament” to the company’s ability to meet market needs.

“The Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS500 Laser Projection TV is an exciting new type of big-screen television experience that only Epson can deliver,” said Rodrigo Catalan, group product manager, projectors, Epson America, Inc. “Solidifying Epson’s dedication to deliver the ultimate viewing experience for the smart home market, it is an honor to be recognized by the CTA as a winner of the Smart Home Division Mark of Excellence Award for the EpiqVision Ultra LS500 Laser Projection TV.”

PlayStation still more popular but Xbox closes the gap

On the 20th anniversary of the console wars between Sony and Microsoft, new research conducted by Safe Betting Sites shows that while Xbox has admirably challenged PlayStation for market supremacy, the latter still holds a 57.54% share of operating system-linked sales. Rivalry between Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox kicked off in 2001 when Microsoft released its original version of the software. PlayStation was first released in December of 1994 in Japan. It went on to become the leading games console, unseating Nintendo and going on to dominate the market.

While Xbox retains a 42.15% share of the market, Nintendo, who are considered pioneers in the industry, now only holds a 0.31% share. With the gap between the two gaming giants at its lowest ever, Microsoft’s catchup is considered even more impressive given that PlayStation once commanded over 90% of the console market. More details are here.
