What’s the best way to attach mattes to my RPTV ??? (1 Viewer)

At the advice of Gregg Loewen when he was here for my calibration in January, I made up a set of MATTES for watching movies that don’t completely fill up my 50” screen.
I have a Toshiba 50H81.
I used 3/16” thick BLACK foamboard material.
While I love the look when watching movies, I’m not crazy about the four Velcro “dots” that are now on my set when they are NOT in place.
Is there a better solution then Velcro ?
Maybe some way to attach these things from the SIDE ?

NICE SETUP ....... NICE AND CLEAN ... LIKE THE MOUNTED SPEAKERS ....

MY VELCRO STRIPS ARE PLACED ON THE SIDE OF THE TV AS FAR BACK AS I COULD GO ....

MY MATTES ARE THE SAME FOAM BOARD BUT ... I HAVE ELASTIC FABRIC GLUED TO THE INSIDE OF THE BOARD ON BOTH ENDS ...

WHEN IN USE I JUST WRAP THE MATTE ACROSS .... STRETCHING THE FABRIC TO THE VELCRO ... NICE AND SNUG ...

Mark….Great suggestion.

My idea was something similar but never thought of elastic material.

I was thinking of a piece of cloth or something that would wrap around and attach on the side.

Time to send the wife off to the craft/sewing store to scope out some supplies.

Anyone else? I know there are more people here using mattes.

Gregg….There should be room for Velcro or some kind of hooks on the side.

I've dug up this old thread for a simple question. I've got the 4 velcro dots in placeon my new Sony A10 and I've already got the foamboard mattes cut. My question is: What do you use to attach the mattes to the velcro. Do you just put tape on the mattes and attach? Am i missing something here?
