rant manual complex interface

I own a Pioneer VSX1122, Supposedly a good receiver in it's day. When I host a party I want to be able to play a stereo signal through my rear speakers at the same volume as my front, with the sub pushing the bass. You'd think that'd be easy, right? In 10 year I have gotten close, but never...
