Who is going to save the Earth when the V'ger and Whale probe come to Earth??? With the changes in the timeline...Then Enterprise might not be there to save us! :)
Like I have said. I wish they would have had Kirk become first officer of the Enterprise under Pike at the end of the movie. Then have the sequel open up a few years later with Kirk taking over for Pike. It just bizarre that a guy who hasn't even graduated the academy is propelled to Captain...
Another small nitpick (wouldn't be Trek without nitpicking). Why did most of the ship look sleek and modern. While engineering looked like a rundown factory from the present?? Including the shuttle bay.

I think the movie could have ended with Kirk being made first officer to Capt Pike on the Enterprise. Then you could have the sequel open with it being a few years later with Pike leaving and Kirk taking over.
I thought Pine sitting with his legs crossed at the end reminded me a lot of Shatner from the original. The one big thing that still bothers me is the Kobiyashi Maru test. I so wanted Kirk to take it serious and act like he really is beating the no win scenario. Instead he acted like he...
I did enjoy the movies. And thought Urban's McCoy was spot on. But, this is a Trek thread. And what would a Trek thread be without nitpicks. So here we go... -Didn't like that Engineering looked like a manufacturing warehouse. -Had no problem with Spock & Uhura. Just surprised how much...
