    When it comes to DNR video processing, screencaps have always been a reliable indicator for me. More reliable than personal reviews with no screencaps. I'm particularly sensitive to any DNR or "grain management" as others call it.

    DVDBeaver just posted screencaps of Foxfire (1955). It looks like somebody took a DNR scrubrush to the master Universal sent to Kino. Detail has been significantly reduced and doesn't look like the detail I would expect from a high-definition source. It may be the best we ever get for this...

    Mr. Lime, Has Kino ever tried to reach out to Earl Owensby about licensing his films? He made 6 low-budget 3-D films in the 80's that were apparently very well shot, but can only be seen at repertory festivals in 35mm prints. Here's a thread that goes into more detail.

    I watched The Invisible Ghost last night with headphones, and I didn't have any issues with it. The last Kino release whose soundtrack bothered me was Bird of Paradise. I haven't had any issues since.

    Kino Studio Classics line of blu-rays are usually available for pre-order for less than $20 USD. That's not exactly Criterion pricing.
