Actually, If the distance being measured is the mic distance from each speaker than MCACC was waaay off. THe sub distance was the worst culprit though. I used measuring tape and manually set the speaker distances to their exact distance. Now Im not sure If I should have done that. Also, what...
Did any of you correct your speaker distances after running MCACC? Mine was way off but maybe it set the distances longer for a reason? Just wondering If I should set them back to what MCACC set them at.
I agree with you. I finally found a sound I love. That nice warm sound never makes me feel tired. I was playing GTA which is heavily laced with music and playing with the different sound modes all night. All I need is that sub...
Yung, my impression of Vanns is great now. They upgraded the shipping on the replacement unit so I could have it by last Friday. Im loving this new reciever though.
Well I finally got a working 1014 tonight and hooked it right up. The MCACC was great, misjudged the surround distance a little. The sound is very warm, nice harsh or bright at all. The detail is great as well. There are so many different ways to listen to everything your almost lost playing...
Well after this Vanns better be shipping me a new one tomorrow. Its comes physically busted and I have to charge a new one before they will send me a new one? no way
Kurt_G, No I wasnt giving up on it. I just wish I could use it. I have it hooked up to 5 channels and can play 2 channel music for 30 secs or so. I played with the different surround fields. Anyone else notice the music playback in surround mode is center channel heavy or is that because I...
Kurt_G That was my post. Upon further inspection it looks like one of the rear back surround terminals were smashed in. It must have happened during packaging because I cant see a way where it could have happened during shipping. Good thing I got from Vanns instead of an unauthorized. However...
Yung, the situation with the Wife is the reason why I wont let her hear my old speakers live because she will get on me on spending so much money! Of course my 1014 is going back because its damaged so I will have to wait for awhile to hear it.
I just noticed in the instruction book that you cannot use midnight mode with DTS or THX, thats a bummer. What is it with these Pioneers and the limitations with DTS and other listening modes? Second is the lack of a dedicated optical input for DVD. It has one for coax but If you want to use...
I would hope there is at least a little difference. Then again Im sure a $2000 receiver sounds a little better than the 54tx. Its a subjective in the end and will keep you running in circles. In the end it was simple for me, sound, price, warrenty = sold. Now that price difference meant I could...
Well, I got my 1014 last night and I can tell you, this thing is a tank. Its heavy as hell. This is no lightweight receiver. I tested it in 2 channel mode last night and it sounds sweet. I will hopefully get 5 speakers hooked up tonight while I wait for my Swans.
Well with Pioneer confirming that the 52tx and the 1014 are basically the same, built in the same place and up until the multi zone thing came up they even shared almost the same instruction booklet. I would be surprised If they didnt sound the same. Now, the 54tx has the advanced MCACC so that...
I have heard many elites so when I heard the 1014 and the 52tx are almost identical that was enough. Not too mention when I ordered from Vanns its was $450 shipped. I see its back up to $499.
Yung, for me it came down to one thing, sound quality. The bottomline is for the coming future I was not going to use alot of the features of the Elite line. The 52tx is just too similar and I doubt you would hear any difference. Chuch, even If those sites say they have the receiver in stock...
I pulled the trigger on the 1014, I got it from Vanns for $450 delivered. How do you beat that? If the Elites had PIIx over DTS that might have been one thing but I wasnt paying over $150 more for a name and better looks.
Thats what Im saying, the Elite 54tx may be a cut above as far as sound quality. Of course thats a very large price difference between the 1014 to the 54tx.
One thing I noticed when looking at Pioneer specs is there is a digital processor difference between the 1014/52tx and the 54tx. Under Digital Engine the 1014/52tx it says Motorola 48-Bit Processing Under 54 tx is says Dual Motorola 48-Bit Processing Would this effect the sound? In...
