Well, I got my 1014 last night and I can tell you, this thing is a tank. Its heavy as hell. This is no lightweight receiver. I tested it in 2 channel mode last night and it sounds sweet. I will hopefully get 5 speakers hooked up tonight while I wait for my Swans.

I have heard many elites so when I heard the 1014 and the 52tx are almost identical that was enough. Not too mention when I ordered from Vanns its was $450 shipped. I see its back up to $499.

Yung, for me it came down to one thing, sound quality. The bottomline is for the coming future I was not going to use alot of the features of the Elite line. The 52tx is just too similar and I doubt you would hear any difference. Chuch, even If those sites say they have the receiver in stock...

I pulled the trigger on the 1014, I got it from Vanns for $450 delivered. How do you beat that? If the Elites had PIIx over DTS that might have been one thing but I wasnt paying over $150 more for a name and better looks.

One thing these pioneers lack is the ability to lay PIIx over DTS, that stink. Denon and yamaha has this on certain models.

In my case its the 1014 vs the 54tx. I can put the extra cash towards a sub one day. Really the 54tx has the advanced mcacc and that it nice.

SO the bottom line is the 52tx doesnt have much on the 1014 except the Elite name.

Thats what Im saying, the Elite 54tx may be a cut above as far as sound quality. Of course thats a very large price difference between the 1014 to the 54tx.

One thing I noticed when looking at Pioneer specs is there is a digital processor difference between the 1014/52tx and the 54tx. Under Digital Engine the 1014/52tx it says Motorola 48-Bit Processing Under 54 tx is says Dual Motorola 48-Bit Processing Would this effect the sound? In...
