This is correct and has been said so many times I don't know why people keep trying to conjure up the fantasy that it was projected in VistaVision. This is 1958 we're talking about. I'm sure that Mr. Scorsese, like everyone else, was saying what we all said back then - we saw it in VistaVision...
Well, you didn't actually see it in actual VistaVision, you saw a 35mm print, as we all did. And yes, it looked superb back in 1958 in the dye transfer prints - amazing.
Clearly most of the films in the box set are not ready for anything. Vertigo could use another pass, frankly, and then Psycho, Marnie, Torn Curtain, Topaz, Frenzy, and Family Plot, not to mention The Trouble with Harry and The Man Who Knew too Much all need new 4K transfers - those were all...
