Since it was season 5, lots had changed in the Arnold family, including their annual Christmas party, which was a bust before it even started, and got worse as each guest entered...

I had a PD VHS tape of the Jack Benny Program that contained the Christmas Shopping episode, which I really liked.

I was turned off to the episode at first because the kid's character is often written to be quite annoying, which helped mask the episode's main storyline.
