Thanks Josh. I'm going to investigate further tomorrow and will double-check the disc, but it looked clean. I'll also try it in my region-free Sony player. Probably won't have time tonight.
Thanks for the info, but this is the only Blu-ray I've ever played in the Panny that has exhibited the problem. If it was a player setting, I'd think that any Blu-ray would show the same issue.
I bought the U.K. set of TMP - The Director's Edition Complete Adventure and have encountered an anomaly with the region-free Blu-ray Bonus Disc, specifically while watching the new documentary "The Human Adventure." During playback on my Panasonic DP-UB9000, the video appears quite jerky at...
Have you tried cleaning the disc? Even if it looks clean, there have been a number of issues like this with 4K releases that a little cleaning resolved easily. Just some distilled water and a microfiber cloth should do the trick. Worth a try anyway.
It was left by my front door, so I can't say for sure, but I assume it was handled by the USPS here in the States since Zavvi shipped it from the U.K. via Guernsey Post.
Good luck with your experiment! Hopefully one of those two scenarios will give you nice output.
I'm going to watch them all in order this week as well. I've recently seen TMP DE in 4K on Paramount+ and thought it looked fantastic, so I'm interested to see if the disc looks better. I'm betting...

Wait just a minute. I asked some posts back and it was confirmed that the North American big box release did NOT include a Blu-ray disc.
North America: 4K UHD + Digital Code (no Blu-ray)
Zavvi: 4K UHD + Blu-ray (no Digital Code)
Has this now changed?
As release day approaches, could someone please confirm my understanding of the Zavvi box set vs. the North American edition? As far as I understand it, the Zavvi box includes a Blu-ray of the film along with the 4K, but no digital code. The North American box has no Blu-ray, only the 4K UHD...
Best Buy doesn't have a listing at all for VI, the TMP box of junk, or the 1-6 box set. Bull Moose is missing the TMP box of junk and the 1-6 box set as well. What a cluster. I'll also say that the search engine Bull Moose uses on its website is pathetically bad.
Remember though that the version of TMP that's included in the four movie set is not the new restored Director's Edition, so if you want that you'll have to buy the new release of #1 as well.
The currently available iTunes digital of TMP includes the Theatrical Cut in 4K DV and "The Director's Edition" in SD, but of course it's not the restored version. It'll be interesting to see how, or if, this changes when the new disc release streets.
