I felt the same way about Gadot when her casting was announced, but she completely vindicated herself in the role. She's perfect as WW IMO, even though I thought the tone of the character in WW84 was off-kilter.
To be fair, the first Wonder Woman was (outside of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Returns) DC's most successful film, and was critically well received. It's no, um, "wonder" that a sequel got the green light and was bankrolled. It's just a shame that the second movie was so bad. Consistency...
