I must be lucky, because the glasses that my local IMAX 3D theater hands out are almost always clean, unmarked, and smudge-free. I've never had to clean a single pair. No reflection issues wearing them over my own glasses either.
I think there was a great 2 hour movie lurking inside of Jackson's Kong, and a great two part tale hiding within the excessive bloat of The Hobbit films. Somewhere. ;)
I have no problem with his indulgences as far as LOTR is concerned because the material lends itself to that kind of filmmaking. IMO though he went way off the rails with both Kong and the three Hobbits, his adoration for the material notwithstanding.
And now, back to Kong: Skull Island. ;)
I liked Jackson's film well enough, but it was far too long and overindulgent for me to consider it even close to being something like a classic. I'm very interested in Skull Island though and am looking forward to an IMAX 3D experience.
