I believe the show is indeed live on Tuesday (EST) as well as Wednesday, but the end clips are taken from dress reheasal footage earlier (hence the same dress, but some specific movement will be different).

Cannot get the Latoya "oversinging" opionions. I wonder if it is an aural illiusion caused by others around her who cannot sing or are still learning as they go along. Latoya has the best control of her voice and clearly is in full command of technique, range and pitch which is beyond the others...

Voting for JS will only make us squirm - having to listen to him for anther week. Fox could care less - viewership is dollars in their pocket. Actually, Fox would win even more with JS continuing forward creating more controversy and anticipation of his demise each week. At this point I believe...

Like Manilow or not, I think the singers were coached more this week than normal and it showed. Also think the backing music tracks were more complex and probably managed directly by manilow. I did recognize most of the songs (geeze alert) and they were changed from the original recording...

Great, so we have 120 minutes for just under 24 minutes of actual singing. Actually, it isn't that bad....there are probably 25 minutes of commercials. Edit: Unless they do two songs each??

I think the only reason JPL is still around is he is the "bad boy " of this season with his unwashed hair and stained shirts. The clueless look with semi-grunge clothing is good for a few votes and his Elaine Benes dance moves probably got the anti-idol non-conforming vote.

I wonder if the idol web site will have an MP3 of Leah's victory song last night. That performance could rival William Hung's debacle....

I cannot understand the whole Leah thing. Any way you look at it, she does not even belong in the mediocre group that made it through. Her victory singing last night was beyond embarrassing and I wish I could have seen Paula's face. There has to be more to the story....

Brian, You may not be off - rumor mill is that judges had picked the ones in the rejected singers quad - They were only told "you will not sing tonight", but not your are out of here. That would mean up to three of those 4 are in and audience calls pick one from the lackluster singing group...

If the judges can pick from one of the 12 from last night instead of the singing 8, then maybe Lisa gets picked by one of them to go on. Theory: The way that non-singing cut of 4 went down, it would add more scripted drama by bringing back one of the pre-cut 4 through the judges pick...

Hard to believe that this is the best in the country. I think I understand Simon's constant look of disgust this season from early on when he saw the "talent" going through. Fox and the producers can only blame themselves....and the judges. Can only image the planned annual tour of finalists...
