Yes. The Criterion Channel transfer is not good, but it was perfectly watchable even in projection (unlike the RKO films), which leads me to believe the elements are probably in decent enough shape. The existing scan may even be usable with digital cleanup, although a new scan would be better...

I watched Edward Dmytryk’s 1949 Obsession aka The Hidden Room. His first British film in exile. Very stylish, enjoyable murder mystery. Robert Newton, Naunton Wayne. Criterion Channel

I’ve also had several discs from those Film Noir and Pre-code collections go bad. Over the years, I’ve discovered at least 20 discs which have gone bad; and if they’re out of print, I’m out of luck. I learned long ago that for any title I want to keep - rip it while you still can.

Thanks Robert. I agree that the new "Man" isn't up to WA Blu-ray standards, but it's far better than the OOP DVD. The same is true for those unnamed films. As these have all been up on HBO max for years, there are obviously no imminent WA Blu's. These are important films, long unavailable...

I watched Fritz Lang’s 1941 Man Hunt before it leaves Criterion Channel. Highly recommended. I don’t think the film is available anywhere else.Very respectable transfer. There is a UK Blu-ray. I suspect this transfer is from that

I’m with Robert on this one. Great style and atmosphere. For intricate Swiss watch plot logic we would have to wait a few decades. Thanks for the tip on the Arrow Blu. I didn’t know it was available.

Anyone know how to combine or duplicate cheapcharts wishlists between iTunes and Vudu? Right now I need to add every movie individually to each list. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks
