Thanks for the suggestions, but I've already decided on the receiver, fronts, sub, center, and surrounds. Receiver: Pioneer A/V Receiver (VSX-516-K) Fronts: (DIY) Dayton 8 Towers Subwoofer: (DIY) 15" Dayton DVC Series Center: (DIY) Dayton III Surrounds: (DIY) Dayton II's So, I'm...
I want to learn how to make speakers. I'm currenly reading a bunch of articles I found online. And I'm also getting help from some of the people on this forum and my uncle. My first project will be the tower speakers I'm going to put as my fronts.
JeremyErwin- Too expensive. I am not allowed to spend >$200 on a receiver. My mom will kill me. gene c- I would like to have a 7.1 receiver because all of my really good speakers that I make will be hooked up to it. I wanted to first make 2 front floor-standing speakers, then a center...
Ya, hysterical. I don't have the money yet, and am going to probably use the money to make my own speakers. I want to see how awesome of speakers I can make! :D All I really need to know is what receiver I should use. I'm looking for one
It did sound good though, better than a bunch of the systems I've heard in my lifetime. And, I set it up myself the way I liked it. Not the way that the installer wanted. I don't like people installing my systems, it sounds better to set up yourself. *EDIT* Alright, what do you guys suggest...
The reviews all said that they were great speakers. They all said that they were the best for the money, sounded better than expensive systems, and they were louder than most. THey even pointed to the woofer as being the best they've encountered. Anyways, what would you suggest? Know any...
Well, I'm sure I'm not that bad. Remember, I'm still 15. A kid. I still have a lot of learning and experience to go through yet. Sorry if I sound stupid, but I'm just getting into this hobby. And the last time I went with "quality" ya, it sounded great! But, the volume sucked. I mean literally...
Alright, thanks. Whats your take on the Denon or Onkyo deal? I personally like the Onkyo's better. To me they look better, have bigger speakers, more powerful , CHEAPER, and is an all-in-one package. I, personally, would rather have one box instead of 2. I'd be easy to carry in, send back if...
I can't spend more than $600 on this, because I'm going to be saving up for a car. And, my deadline to buy my car is next summer (not this one, the one after this one) so I don't have to ride a bus my senior year. So, upgrades during time are out of the question.
No, all he did was check the wattage and the sound level (Hz). He said it was good for a old receiver. *EDIT* My dad did put the receiver on full-blast. Heck, he did it all the time at parties. No distortion at all. Ran full blast for a few hours before getting hot. I'd see for myself but I...
Yeah, I have a Cirsuit City about 45minutes away. I'll be there next weekend hopefully. And, I saw in another thread someone wanted Fluance speakers. I was wondering if it was a good idea to getthese speakers and get a 120Wx7 Receiver and hook them up to it.
So, you're suggesting the Denn over the Onkyo? I liked the Onkyo actually. And, my Yamaha receiver has the absolute correct wattage. My freind came over and tested it with some sorta device and it read 110-watts (at full blast). So, maybe I should go with a 110Wx7 Yamaha receiver?
That's too expensive though. I want something under $550. I can't buy anything much more than that due to the fact that after I buy this, I'm going to save up for a car. And I'm gonna need all of the money I can get for a car. It does seem like a good idea, but it's just too expensive for me.
So, I would have to listen to both Onkyo and SONY? Or buy them both and choose? 'Cuz, I'm not made out of money. I'm only a 15 year old baggage boy at a Publix in Florida. So, pretty much HSU is outa the question. Is their any sort of device I can use to test the receivers to see if they...
Even with the numbers inflated I'd imagine it being more than 730watts. And, I have no experience with HSU. I might get it home, turn it on, and be very unsatisfied. Do you know anywhere I can find out if I can hear them? 'Cuz I'm sure those SONY's are everywhere.
I'd rather go with the Onkyo's but why not the sony? It's 1kWatts. That beats the Onkyo by 230watts and the Pioneer/HSU by 300watts. And, I personally think that those HSU's are "weak" looking and I never heard of HSU before this site.
I like 'em, but I have a new idea. Would I be better off just buying a whole new already put together system for $500? I'm sure I could find a decent 120Wattx7 Home theater set for about $600. What do you guys think? I'll list my ideas below: 1...
It's definitely over 250lbs, I'd say closer to 350 than 300 or 400. I definitely can't lift it. It's a NEC KX-2792 26" Console TV. A console is a TV that's build into a wooden console, here's a picture: That's what it looks like, but it looks like they tore out the speaker in that one...
Alright, is it ok to get a refurbished receiver?: http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_...oneer_VSX-516K And I really don't have much of a budget for a TV stand, the cheaper the better though. If I can't find a cheap TV stand here, I'll just go to a Thrift Shop or something and buy one there.
