I am puzzled by the lack of a Blu ray release of BENEDICTION, a film I enjoyed a lot. No domestic USA release at all and only a DVD in the UK. Since it's a Terence Davies film, I'm hoping that maybe Criterion might release it - fingers crossed!

Just noticed that Dona Herlinda and Her Son is getting a showing at MoMA as part of a Guillermo del Toro tribute (it stars his mother and he was a producer.) I think this should be ripe for a new release on Blu-ray.

I thought the stand-out in the film was David Dawson as the young Patrick. He exudes charisma and gives a really fine performance.

Am I the only one who feels that Derek Jacobi was slighted by not having his picture on the BD cover? He is, after all the leading actor. Perhaps Strand thought they'd grab the James Bond fans....

I would highly recommend watching GETTING GO, which is available on Netflix. Incredibly cinematic, well-directed and acted. You won't be sorry!!
