They held the first screening today and reviews are starting to surface. Anti-Spoiler; If you're hoping to found out what organization was behind everything from Casino Royal, don't--Because they still don't reveal it in Quantum.
I know the filmmakers said that this one was to conclude...
I believe it was the last full trailer they released, they show Mathis and Bond says something like "You're the only one I can trust." It could easily be misleading but at the very least Mathis will be back.
Any one issue on its own isn't necessarily a bad sign, it's when you put the pieces together. We've got a much shorter movie with FAR more action that, from the trailers, looks to be over-directed to me. All the interviews for the movie have made sure to play up the action, and descriptions...
I think there was some kind of Bond event recently, and the films Director and Craig have had several interviews from it around the web. "Quantum" Is Shortest Bond Yet (September 23rd 2008)
Well it's come out the the film is the shortest in the franchise at 106 minutes. They've also cut the scene that included the "Bond..." line, making it the first film not to have it. I've had doubts about this one before but I'm seriously going to lower my expectations at this point...
Originally "Surrender," performed by K.D. Lang, was to be the title track for Tomorrow Never Dies. You can hear it all over the films' score and I've always liked it better than the Crow theme.
Has anyone seen the recent reports for this flick? A $220 million budget? A half hour pre-title action sequence? It all seems too much to follow what Casino established.
Indeed. I think the best way to describe it for me personally is that; I don't like it, but I wouldn't want them to waste their time bothering to change it. It doesn't lower my expectations for the film nor will it color my opinion upon seeing the movie. It's not a big deal but what else is...
Accepting and liking are entirely different things. You act as if everyone hates every Bond title at first, which isn't the case. When "Casino Royal" was announced I didn't think it was a shitty title. When "Die Another Day" was announced I didn't think it was a shitty title. Before I saw...
Richard, do you have any idea how tiresome it is to see you post this argument in every thread that mentions the name Bond? And I don't think I've ever, EVER, seen anyone agree with you. Please stop.
To be fair Dr. No and From Russia with Love hadn't settled on the Bond paradigm that's been followed ever since Goldfinger. From Russia with Love did have a title song as well, it just wasn't used in the opening credits.
