Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Can't remember if this has been posted before, but I found it pretty funny:- http://www.lileks.com/bleats/archive...05/060905.html Also quite interesting as an addition to the discussion in this thread. Which seems to be petering out. Have we fans finally lost steam?

Just finished the ROTS novel. A cracking good read. It nicely fleshes out the first half, as noted by Adam and Kevin, whilst in the second it curiously condenses scenes, or even omits dialogue in the movie, and even changes somewhat some sequences of events. I wonder if it's because Lucas...

Yeah, come on out to Singapore, then you’ll truly know what “sticky humid weather” is… Bearing in mind what Chuck said about the Four Fates and how great that sequence is, reminds me of the complaint about Padme "losing the will to live" despite having twin babies to raise. I agree it's a...

I always felt that was more due to the fact that he had matured between ESB and ROTJ. If you've absorbed the fact that Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith, is your biological father, adding a sister to your newly revealed family isn't going to be that earth-shattering, especially since in contrast to...

Agreed, but the difference between TPM and ROTS is that in TPM, Maul was overconfident, thinking he had won the battle, and did not expect Obi-Wan to leap up over him, whilst in ROTS Anakin was consumed with his desire to "get" Obi-Wan that he recklessly leapt over Obi-Wan and exposed his legs...

That, and no mega-paychecks to "big" stars. He might've given them a back-end deal to sweeten the pot, and it would of course be extremely lucrative and worthwhile to the actors to take a cut of the gross, but this figure would not appear in the budget and therefore makes it seem a lot more modest.

I'd like to read that essay! Not for this thread, though, admins will get real upset if we take it so far off-tangent. (Edit: punctuation error.)

Yes he is; he's just not English, is all. Britain comprises England, Wales and Scotland, hence my deliberate use of "Brit" rather than "English", even though in Star Wars he speaks with an English accent, to conform with Sir Alec's, and not his own native Scottish accent.

He is Brit, after all. :D I haven't said it yet, let me echo those who've applauded Ewan's performance. It is really powerful: dare I say "Oscar-worthy"? It really adds emotional heft to the entire saga, lines like "You were my brother", "I failed you". Sorry if this is incoherent...

Absolutely. Discussed already, and I agree: had Mace brought Anakin with him when trying to arrest Palpatine, Anakin probably would not have turned against Mace after seeing Palpatine easily slice two other Jedi. Of course, blame Mace too for engaging in Bond-villain exposition.... ;) Gotta...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Assorted thoughts:- On the comment that digital effects still don't get gravity right, for that matter (OT, this) the wire-work on Matrix et al didn't get it right either, in that the actors were let down too lightly, so they "floated" back down, rather than land with the necessary thump. In...

From Expanded Universe (or other sources?), the point is that dabbling in Dark Side powers is what causes the degeneration. So Palp's exertions in Dark Side powers, and maybe the feedback caused by Mace's defence, are what causes him to scar, whereas the victim of Dark Side lightning, i.e. Mace...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Caught it at lunchtime today (yes, it was an ultra-extended lunch break :D :b) Gotta say I loved it. Obviously it had some klunky moments, in particular the dialog between Anakin and Padme on the landing pad at Mustafar, and later between Anakin and Obi Wan before they duel, but on the whole...
