    Star Trek future movies?

Re-booting Star Trek IMHO is a mistake. The aforementioned continuity errors are just that, errors, which one can plausibly come up with some off-screen answer, or simply accept as a mistake. But to deliberately ignore that which has been established in 4 (or 5 depending on your point of view)...

    Star Trek future movies?

Some elements are interesting, others not so. It feels as too much of an effort to shoe-horn all the main TOS characters into being at the Academy at the same time -- perceived to be necessary story-wise, but makes for rather artificial circumstances. Worst of all, they rescue the Enterprise and...

    Star Trek future movies?

I'd agree with Carl, but the problem may be that Stewart may be unwilling to accept anything less than a proper lead/starring role, and as an Admiral commanding Captain Riker he would necessarily be a supporting character -- unless he "takes over" as Kirk did in ST:TMP, but that would simply be...

    Star Trek future movies?

Stewart's already 65 (born 1940). Although he appears in good health and seems fit, you never really know whether he'll make 75, and whether he'll be fit enough to work on the rigours of a major motion picture at age 75, least of all as a starship captain, unless of course he just sits behind a...

    Star Trek future movies?

Ah. My bad. Been a while since I watched it. From that perspective, it makes sense.

Fair points. But IIRC The Pegasus Incident was before he was assigned to the Enterprise, and early in S1 (or S2), he was offered his own command, and when he turned it down it was said that was the third time he'd turned down command. As for having his propective ship being destroyed in Best of...

    Star Trek future movies?

Given that the Enterprise was badly busted up at the end of Nemesis, it could be in refit, and Picard winds up a "passenger" on Riker's ship? Also, one thing that has always been "dumb" is how Riker (and to a lesser extent Picard) had turned down promotions and their careers were in a sense...

    Star Trek future movies?

Cheryl's a lovely name, why'd she go with the rather strange "Gates"? To make herself "unique"? And if she's a choreographer, it's a shame TNG writers never took advantage of that and did something with the good doctor dancing in the holodeck or something, it would've added something...

    Star Trek future movies?

Funny, I'd have thought the charge of mis-use of the Star Trek name to sell a show was usually applied to Voyager rather than DS9... Isn't it a "prequel to a prequel" only? "Enterprise" is a prequel to ST:TOS, so this movie would be a prequel to "Enterprise", therefore "prequel to a prequel".

    Star Trek future movies?

Featuring the adventures of Captain Riker, his missus, and other assorted folk. Who'd be his first officer? LaForge? Don't think engineers are typically in the "main" command structure. Worf? Possible but weird, considering his past history with the missus. And would the missus be counsellor on...
