Also , on the dvd menu it asks if your tv is pal or ntsc.Before i pack up the player to ship,is it neccessary to change the tv setting and region settings on the dvd menu or wait?

Does this mean i would be able to use this dvd player in europe without a power converter ?That would seem odd since its a north american power cord attached to the player.
