Just to clear up some misconceptions, Fox realized very early in the production of THE ROBE that the three strip camera was incompatible with the CinemaScope process. They quietly switched to an Eastmancolor negative for all three of the initial productions (ROBE, HT MARRY... and 12 MILE REEF)...
