Unless the methods change, I doubt that short term change will be seen. With SD DVD, one could pick up patterns, that tracked to studios, in terms of A/V quality with regards to discs over a period of time that were indicative of the techniques, decisions, etc. that went into creating the final...

The original Terminator film did exhibit grain. ( And yes, I can recall certain theatrical experiences. :) ) Haven't seen the Bd presentation but if there is no grain present then I would argue that it doesn't accurately represent the original film. - Walter.
