Congrats to the Boston Red Sox for winning the 2013 World Series. And one of the more entertaining series to watch.I have to stop with this bad habit of flipping through channels, because I end up missing some key moments. Like when I missed Victorino's bases-clearing triple, all because I was...
I was thinking that, when I actually stayed up to watch Game 3, which ended around 12:30am. Luckily, it was during the weekend. I mean, talk about messing with people's sleeping patterns. But then, making the fans happy, will mean making the networks unhappy.
Only 3 more possible games with...
Oh, I remember when people would call the radio station, not only expressing their outrage over the hire of Manuel, but also how Wade did not get fired while fan favorite Bowa did.
Still, it turned out well, since I got to see a championship in this city, something I may not see for a very long...
Funny, because I was just thinking, what would his legacy be, after all this time? I doubt anyone will have fond memories of this guy, or Joe Buck, for that matter. McCarver must have horrible pictures of various people in the business, which would only explain why he lasted this long, and how...
Yeah, I should have mentioned that the issues with going to Dolphin Stadium, was if I tried to go there by public transportation. I remember asking one of the hotel staff how to get there from South Beach, and he first gave me a vague answer, then admitted that he did not really know.
Plus I...
I got too tired to watch the rest of the game, and thought it was over after the Tigers took a 5-0 lead, and what appeared to be the Red Sox being nearly no-hit for the 2nd straight game. I was really shocked to learn the next morning, that the series is now tied 1-1.
Unfortunately, that lease...
And I doubt a new stadium will solve the Rays' attendance problems. And after what happened with the Marlins, I don't see them getting one, unless the team pays for it completely. And very embarrassing that they could not sell out any of the playoff games. Next thing you know, Selig will have the...
Hey Mike,
Well, eliminating interleague play is one thing. But making the adjustments after that, is another. I like the idea of 2 sets of 7-team divisions in each league, as it does go back to the old days, the way I remembered it. More games against teams outside the division, but within the...
Intradivision record does not make much sense as a tiebreaker if it involves 2 teams from different divisions, as not all divisions are created equal. But with so many games in a season, I'm not sure what would be a better system of tiebreakers, unless they decide to adopt the NFL or NBA system...
The 2014 schedules have been announced, and I can't believe that they are opening the season overseas again!

Yeah, as he brought the only championship to this town in the last 30 years, and the only one that I'll remember. The GM should have been fired as well. When really thinking about it, the best moves he probably made, was mainly due to Ed Wade. I bet Howard Eskin is loving this, big-time...
I was thinking when watching Sunday's game, "things could not possibly get any worse" after seeing John Mayberry Jr get picked off at second. Then this happens. Another excalmation mark to a terrible season.
While the Mets are not having a good season, their fans have to feel good that their 2 representives will be starting in the All-Star Game in their own home field.
I know the feeling, as I can remember a group of my friends deciding to go to a Phillies game back in 1990. I assumed my parents would have said no, so I told the friends that I could not go. Turned out that game would be a no-hitter by Terry Mulholland. Later, my mom told me that I would have...
Oh man, did I really hate going to games at that stadium. At the time, I thought that was one of the reasons why attendance is so low at the games, because it is so freaking unbearable. Even the breeze provides no relief at all.
I can picture Mike reacting the same way about replay and interleague play as the Nostalgia Critic would with the Bat credit card (from "Batman and Robin"). :D
Seeing Mutley laughing there, I can't help but think the Angels are being run by the likes of Dick Dastardly, thinking he has this big, foolproof plan to win it all with the 2 big free-agent signings, only that it will backfire in a big way. :D
Yeah, it was nice to see the Phils come from behind for once, even when down to their last out. Who knew that a first pitch swinging would result in a win!
Scott,
I did not mind interleague play either. In fact, I welcomed it when it first started, since baseball was the only sport left at the time, that had separate leagues not playing each other in the regular season. The one thing that I do hate though, is the rivalry series, which is a prime...
The Phillies home opener against the Royals - something is definitely not right with this picture.
Made even worse with Kyle Kendrick starting, and the Phils blowing a 4-0 lead! This is starting to be like last season, made even worse with the great start that the Nationals are having.
And I...
